Doesn't matter how sick you are or how much Nyquil you have taken, what in God's name is she doing leaving an 11 mo old, obviously unconstrained, (for want of a better word) where there is a bucket of whatever, unsecured. Only takes a minimal amount of liquid to drown in.
Damn straight you should be anonymous. Stop coming to the defense of worthless nannies who KILL children!
Mark, When you lead a perfect life with no errors in judgement, no flaws, no accidents, THEN you can throw the first stone. Until then, lets recall all the times in our lives we made errors in judgement and got LUCKY nothing bad happened. I'm not saying she should have had ny'quil in her system while working but come on...she didn't wake up that morning and say I'm going to make sure I kill my charge today. She made a bad choice and got caught. We ALL make bad choices from time to time. The difference is we usually don't get caught.
This is a big pet peeve of mine, that at the home where I work, the cleaning supplies are left in lower (unlocked) cabinets, and the housekeeper never even closes them to the locked position. She also will leave the mop bucket with water in it in the closet, where the children could easily fall into it, yet not be seen right away. Although I watch the children closely, I can't be everywhere at once. I feel fortunate that the worst I've encountered so far is one child spraying windex in his eye.
seems like a tragic accident to me.
just my opinion.
Reckless assault?? That's crazy! Maybe that article was too short and not written well, but nowhere did I see anything even suggesting she assaulted a child. This is tragic and horrible and the woman was pretty stupid, but I bet she is wracked with guilt about it. This was neglect and I guess manslaughter but certainly not assault.
