I disagree. Parents want in home child care for room and board. That is reminiscent of serfdom, especially the guy who wants a serf, and sex. If she's good, she gets a cell phone. That crap ought to be illegal.
ReplyDeleteIt cracks me up these people who want live-in in exchange for child-care and then expect them to have a car and such on top of that when they don't even give them enough time to work to get the money for the other stuff. Crazy people! And the woman touting that $4 an hour is really good pay is crazy. Sure, some days will be off occasionally but probably not as often as she'd like you to think!
ReplyDeleteWhich one is the guy looking for sex? And willing to provide a cellphone? Please number the ones you are replying too. I would love to read them I keep missing that one.
ReplyDeleteWhat's weird about #11?
ReplyDeleteMorgyn,
ReplyDeleteI thought it was hilarious that they would offer a one hour paid lunch break. Do they plan to come from work and relieve you? Or is it while the baby is sleeping?
A Nanny is never off duty...
5) Who gets a live-in nanny when they don't even have an extra bedroom? I would never make my child share a room with her nanny, or vise versa.
ReplyDelete6) They need a babysitter when they're at home?
11) One hour paid lunch break while the baby is asleep? The nanny should be paid for all hours, even when the baby is asleep. So why mention this?
14) A nanny is not a grounds keeper. That's like hiring someone to paint your house but expecting them to check in on your kids.
I personally find #25 funny. $140 per 2 weeks?! I work similar hours(the ad said 230-6pm) for much more.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad for these kids!
I sent in #25, the one who said $140 every two weeks is "really good pay." Then, just yesterday, that woman found my phone number from a nanny website and really wanted to interview me. Of course I politely told her I can't afford to live off of $70 a week, even if it is part-time. I also explained to her that a nanny doesn't only pick kids up from school and just play with them all afternoon--we do actual work! So I managed to talk this woman up to $125 WEEKLY and we have an interview next week. :)
