Palisades Mall in West Nyack, NY

Received Wednesday, October 3, 2007
I saw your nanny yesterday (10/2) afternoon at the Palisades Mall with your two children. Little boy sitting up in a stroller with a blue liner with little gold stars. The other child was about 3 years old. Nanny was strolling through mall looking at things and three year old was way ahead of her, sometimes behind her. Started to go up the escalator- he was that far ahead of her- and a woman who was about 70 years old saved him, which required some fast moving, shuffling of her bags and handbag. The little boy wasn't even using his hands, stood at bottom backwards about to step back. The old woman told the nanny, "is he yours, you should keep a closer eye on him" and the nanny said something like, "Ah, you ole buzzard". Suggestion for this nanny's employer, double stroller and attitude adjustment for your nanny.

Wandering little boy was wearing jeans with elastic at waist, mint green colored shirt with paw prints on it and most notably, Van style shoes that were Elmo decorated. The nanny was in her mid to late twenties, medium height, fuller figured, African American with her hair pulled very, very tightly back off her face.

  1. Unsupervised toddler on an escalator! That is very risky. Little hands move fast, and get hurt even faster. This woman also seems rude. Maybe it's because her hair was pulled ""very, very tightly".

  2. Attitude adjustment? No, she needs to be fired. She is not only rude, but negligent.

  3. How horrible. And people wonder why I advocate searching nanny's quarters to see who they really are.

Would you think this was funny, if this was your child? I think not. Escalator have caused childrens fingers to be crushed and feet in the past.

And she has no respect for her elders. Luckily, that woman was their to help.

How would searching the nanny's quarters alert you to this negligent behavior? You are as bad as the nannies on here.
Two wrongs don't make a right.

  7. 12:33, exactly! She still hasn't explained what sort of illegal activity she thinks her nanny is guilty of, or why she continues to entrust her children to someone she suspects of being a criminal.

And anyone who doesn't think it's a big deal and very serious for a 2 year old to be allowed to accidentally wander away onto an escalator without the nanny even realizing it should never be left in charge of children!

  9. 1052- There were two kids, not three.

I had an experience with a nanny I thought was great. And an aquaintance of mine commented on how "nice" my nanny seemed. The problem? She was at the mall in Stamford when my child was supposed to be in music class. So just as you may assume that the nanny "is good", you may also be enlightening the parents to even more that is going on that they have no idea about.
