This occurred today (8/1) around 9:30 am: I saw a woman named Miss Vicki (Caucasian, maybe in her 40s, heavy NY accent) with two young boys, a Caucasian named Colin and an African American named Jacoby (sp?). She was great with Colin, helping him, encouraging him, being everything a nanny/sitter should be. However, I was very concerned about her behavior with Jacobi. The poor little guy could do nothing right. He fell down several times and instead of offering sympathy, she just kept telling him that he was moving his body too fast and he had to stop doing that. He was unfazed, but when Colin fell down she offered up sympathy for him. Jacobi was playing with one of the steering wheels, but when Colin decided he wanted to play Miss Vicki immediately made him stop and insisted Collin get a turn. Collin and Miss Vicki were playing with the race car play thing and when Jacoby wanted a turn she refused to let him play. He started crying and screaming and she threatened him with a time out. She continued to play with it herself instead of letting him play with the second car. Finally, she did give him a turn but did not play with him like she had played with Colin.
The whole thing turned my stomach. I know these aren’t as bad as some of the things reported, but it seemed like she really didn’t like Jacoby and was not treating him fairly. I know I wouldn’t want to continue to keep my child in that environment.
Racist bitch...its so obvious. She treated the caucasian boy better and the AA kid like crap. What a horrible human being someone needs to kick her ass.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Jacoby's parents will see this and get rid of Miss Vicki...what a turd.
ReplyDeleteColin was probably her own child and the other child was her charge. This happens all the time. It's very common for a mother to prefer and favor her own children over her step-children or other children that she may bear responsibility for in some capacity. The damage is does to the other child or children is irreparable.
ReplyDeletei feel it does damage to both children...
ReplyDeleteracist pig....she should be fired...
cant stand people like her
WHY didnt you say something ???I would never stand by.. i would HAVE to open my mouth (the german people never said anything and look what happend 6 million of us died= i never got to know my grandparents, aunts or uncles)..so now i would never be quiet if anything like this happend in front of my eyes...no way..hell would freeze over first...
we must help this little boy.
next time please dont just look on
stand up for this little boy....

ReplyDeletelucky 8?
ReplyDeletewhat is 8?
This is sickening! This behavior is really going to effect both of these little boys very negatively as they grow... (Colin, will feel confusion and eventually guilt) and of-course poor Jacobi will feel depressed, over looked and inferior! I hope with all my heart that she gets fired, she doesn't deserve to work with children as obvisously she hasn't grasped the fact that all children are precious and deserve to be treated with equal kindness and respect. Next time, please speak up, even if it's just to say "Jacoby sure looks lonely, maybe you should play with him too?" ... at least that way she would realize that others ARE noticing her blatantly incorrect behavior!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid if you call her on it, she will only resent it and take it out on Jacobi.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope someone alerts his parents.
ok-what's the point of this site? of this report? you have chosen to remain anonymous - most likely jacoby continues to be treated in this way today and will so tomorrow and the next and the next...?
ReplyDeleteam i missing something here?
If Westchester and UES nannies come from the Bronx, do Maryland nannies come from that part of Baltimore where The Wire takes place? If so, I can understand the fear of accosting such a nanny.
ReplyDeleteWhat a racist "see-you-next-Tuesday" !!
ReplyDeleteSounds like this was a nanny, or a mother who insisted on being called "Miss Vicki" (rolling my eyes).
The caucasian boy was probably her charge (or son) and the African-American boy was probably with them on a playdate.
Actually, who cares what the particulars were? She should be taken out and SCHOOLED!
Reminds me of a horrid woman once nannied for.
Her son went to school with the adopted African-American son of a celebrity, and my horrid employer couldn't wait to arrange a playdate with the celebrity's son (precisely because he was a celebrity's son).
The little boy came over for a playdate one day, and I expected her to fall all over herself trying to ingratiate herself to this "star child"...but she did the opposite.
She treated him like he had a disease and kept asking him not to touch anything in the house. She fed him snack on a paper plate (HER son was allowed to use a real plate) and threw it away & disinfected her hands after the two boys ate.
She seemed relieved when he finally went home. Later she confided in me that she hadn't realized "he was SO DARK" when she originally invited him to play.
I quit the following week...for that reason and many, many more.
ladonna youre missing the fact that people have the option to post anonymously LOL
ReplyDeleteDefinite racist. Hope his mom sees this.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, not necessarily racist! Mothers prefer and favor their own children, not always... but often.
ReplyDeleteWhether due to racism or her just being an ass**** who has no business being near children, doensn't matter, This behavior was unacceptable!
ReplyDeleteI would love to run into "Ms. Vicki" in a dark alley. Oh, wait a minute, I mean run over.
ReplyDeleteWhat a jerk. She is teaching the black child to feel inferior and in turn resent white males. Meanwhile she is also teaching the white child to feel superior over black males. All children need and must be treated equal regardless of race, ethnicity etc. This woman needs to be placed in a time capsule and returned to hell.
ReplyDeleteI actually suspect that Jacobi was her child, and Colin her charge. That's why she was so unsympathetic when he fell - she's probably seen it before. Not saying it's okay, but I've seen Nannies act like this before. She's favoring Colin because he's the key to the paycheck.
ReplyDeleteUh, wouldn't the caucasion child be more likely to belong to the caucasion nanny? I mean, isn't that logical?
ReplyDeleteNot these days, it isn't. Lots of Caucasian women have black children! It's not much of a stretch at all. Black dad = 1/2 black child!
