ReplyDeleteOne comment about the pool and spa safety. We travel alot and every resort has a pool. Teach your children to stay away from the drains, even if they have safety covers. Accidents have happend at the poshest resorts.
ReplyDeleteI was at babies r us recently and I was just trying to buy some plastic sippy cups and plates. I couldn't find one that wasn't made in China. It's nearly impossible to boycott everything made in China.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth the effort to keep China out of your house.
ReplyDeleteMany families have had unexpected tragedies in pools and spas. Always keep scissors nearby if you have a hot tub in your bath or yard. If hair get tangled, you need to cut it and quick. I asked my pool guy about our drain and he told me where the cut off switch was. When I asked about a child getting stuck on the drain, he guaranteed me I could get the child off. He, a representative of a company that builds and services pools was completely clueless!
China-it is going to be near impossible to boycott. Does anyone have any ideas for how to find the safest toys? I love 'Melissa and Doug' toys. I am trying to make sure that they are 'safe'. I believe they are made in the USA, but now I'm even worried that parts/peices could be from China, you know?
ReplyDeletePools-my boss has asked that I always check the pressure of the pool pumps/filters etc. before going in (not really applicable now because the child is too young, but good to keep in mind for when she is older) after the incident with the little girl's intestines being...well, I can't even think about it, it's too sad. Always make sure there are covers on these things. Better safe than sorry.
holy crap! no pun intended... but I never realized that pools could be so dangerous!
ReplyDeleteDon't you get it?
