To the mom of Paul, Anna, and Sarah, I have seen your children twice in the past week at Horace Mann with different sitters/nannies, screaming, crying, little ones with no pants on and soiled diapers hanging off of them, barefoot, and saying they are hungry. The nanny last week said it was her first day, so she said the mom ran out before she could even tell her the children's' names or ages! Also, last week, that nanny still hadn't fed them lunch and was wondering what to do about the children being hungry at 1pm (they were toddlers). I had to explain to her that most toddlers eat lunch earlier than that and maybe she should take them home to eat lunch, as they were literally begging me for my snacks which I had with me. Today, a different nanny, who was at least trying to play with them, didn't speak any English at all. The two little girls were so upset and tired, rubbing their eyes (that was at 6pm) and the little girls first called me mommy then started calling out to the nanny calling her mommy. It broke my heart. I'm not sure who is to blame here but I would want to know if my children were so upset and in such a bad state.
I dont know about you but it seems as though the mom is to blame. why so many nannies. she dosent seem to care. those poor kids. being shipped off from nanny to nanny. now this is a textbook case of a mom paying little or no money for child care and the kids having to suffer.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely seems like the mom is to blame. The nannies all obviously didn't know anything about the children, which is really unfortunate. The nannies ARE to blame for not changing diapers, putting the kids in proper dress, or feeding them on time. That stuff is all common sense!
ReplyDeleteBut obviously the mom can't keep a nanny. This is very much HER problem!
This is horrible. Can someone from the area post this on local discussion boards or local websites? Maybe the local Craigslist? Please help these children. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a Bad Parent Sighting via the Bad/Clueless Nanny!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a BAD MOMMY sighting to me!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Bad mommy. But they sound like bad nannies too. They don't seem to be able to pick up on any cues.
ReplyDeleteThis was posted on local boards as well.
ReplyDeleteWow the word is" rotten MOM "...this is neglect...
ReplyDeleteHow do you leave this kids with STRANGERS?...if i was a nannie i would walk out....right away in the morning..
very sad for children to grow up like this in an insecure uncarring way...
this is NOT a bad Nannie sighting..but a very neglectful mom sighting..
Maybe next time get some info out of NEW nannie..like last name were they leave and so on..good luck lets help this POOR kids
As a nanny I can tell you I would not take a position under such circumstances! Come one, suppose I feed the children lunch and one of them has an allergy the parent neglected to mention. That can be deadly!
ReplyDeleteAs a nanny, I would have to call CPS and report the negligent parent(s) in this case!
9:33 very good idea 100% correct
ReplyDeleteHow could a parent leave their children with a new nanny every other week ... obviously the mom isn't screening carefully, either. Not to mention leaving these nannies in a stressed state, not even knowing their names or ages? Are you kidding me? This is another post that pisses me off ... because we not only have nannies that are thrown into a situation that they cannot handle, we also have a very uncaring, neglectful parent ... so where does this leave the kids? I think CPS needs to be called. Now.
ReplyDeleteyikes! save these kids!!
ReplyDeleteIf the sitters the mom hires don,t know what time kids eat or how to change them , then they are not experience child care givers. So noone is to blame but the parent in this case.
ReplyDeleteOne of the first things a job hunting nanny wants to know, when considering whether to interview for a particular position is number and ages of the children.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is the mom is hiring these women from a temp. agency, as housekeepers, or cleaning women. She clearly isn't interviewing them if they don't even know the names and ages of the children! It also looks like the "nannies" have no clue about childcare.
I agree, CPS should look into this situation.
A Nanny
This is a bad PARENT (not just Mom is to blame) and bad nanny sighting. Shame on the parents for not screening and leaving the proper information and who are these "nannies" that don't ask the children's names, ages, preferences, etc. before taking the job?
ReplyDeletelow rent nannies, illegals, clueless idiots who just want a paycheck, etc. etc. That's who.
ReplyDeleteyes the mom is being neglectful, but as a nanny i ALWAYS ask questions BEFORE the parents leave. if they dont offer the information i need, i ASK for it!!!
ReplyDeleteand for crying out loud who cant figure out when a child is hungry and/or tired??? and who doesnt pack food when going out around meal times... i mean HELLO!!!! i say shame on nanny and parents!
There is enough blame to go around here.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I went to an interview with a mother who sounds remarkably like this dead beat. Her 'wanted ad' was so "normal", yet she was any thing but normal when I got there! The house was a wreck (and I mean filthy), the kids were a mess, and she wanted to hire me on the spot and have me start THAT day!! I hadn't even given her my resume/letters of reference and she was already talking of heading out and having me start!! She hadn't even told me her children's names, what exactly she would pay me or for how long she'd be gone, but she was running for her coat and car keys! Needless to say, I saw negligent mother written all over her face, declined the job AND called CPS (the kids were as dirty as the house, acted miserable and were clinging to me as if for help.) I don't know what happened and I didn't pretend to know to CPS, I just felt it was better to be safe than sorry and the house and those poor little kids appearance alone tipped me off that they weren't being cared for properly.
ReplyDelete7:43- Good for you! More people need to report this type of thing. Those poor kids- clinging to a stranger.....heartbreaking!
ReplyDeleteSome people just should not have children!!
ReplyDeleteBuy a houseplant! Take up a hobby! USE A CONDOM!
But in the name of all that is holy, do not breed!!
7:43 PM
ReplyDeleteProps to you for reporting them! I hope you found a nice family.
Thanks 3:29, the mother is not necessarily the only parent - if there's a father in this family, he's just as much responsible for the well-being of his children.
ReplyDeleteGreat job 7:43PM. She was probably about to fly off to Las Vegas and leave the children with you for days. I hope CPS straightened her out.
ReplyDeleteI posted a similiar sighting on here way back. I ran in to a nanny who was on her first day of the job, given the child, a car and told to take the child to meet a friend of the child's. The nanny ended up at the wrong park and did not even realize what town she was in! No training time. She started and the parents were out the door.
ReplyDeleteVery scary.
