CL-WTF?

.... WHAT?!

Feature:
1) Babysitter for 15 year old NEEDED (Mississippi)
Hello,
My 15 year old son recently broke my trust and stayed out until 9 am the next day!
I work a lot so I trusted him to walk home after school and call me if he goes out.
If he wants to act like a kid. I'll treat him like a kid.
Needless to say, I need a new solution.
I'm looking for a babysitter who,
Will watch him at their house.
Will treat him like a little kid.
Will be strict on discipline including giving spankings for misbehaving or being disrespectful.
Is within walking distance of Ocean Springs High School (downtown Ocean Springs)
He gets out of school at 3:30 and I need someone to watch him until I get home.
(around 8 on weekdays)
He can walk home after I get home from work.
Please email me with rates and when your available to start.
Thanks, Chad

  1. Anytime. I picked random states and cities, thereby discovering that there are crazy people all over, looking for childcare.

  2. Wow, I thought I sent a good one, but it pales in comparison with the rest of the nutty ads.

  3. I send some in almost every week, through email not Meebo, but I include the URL,link, the body, everything and they never make it in. I think maybe one made it, but someone else might have sent it in as well.

Is it because I ask to be identified as only Cat? I don't want my email moniker out there in the thank yous for all to see, so I ask for it not be. My apologies if I am in the wrong.

  4. Cat,
I have never received an Ad with your name attached to it. There are a few readers that ask to be identified through nickname or moniker and I am more than happy to oblige. If they do not indicate otherwise I only use the 1st part of their e-mail. Only once did I receive an e-mail back asking me to use a different name.

I don't know what to say except that very rarely do I turn down an Ad and if it is a repeat I will still use both contributors names or monikers.

  5. Thanks, MPP. I'll send them again and put in the message that I am Cat and see what happens.

Sorry, I wasn't being accusatory. Just don't want you to think no one cares about CL-WTF, it's my fave, lol.

  7. Number 4 is cute! I love how she rhymed ballerina and Argentina. ;)

Number 7 is horrifying! They will only respond to the lowest price quoted? That is their ONLY screeing criteria? Way to care what-so-ever about who is caring for your precious child. I guess their wallet is much more precious to them. Scary that there are parents out there like this!

Number 19: "hopefully looking for a more affordable form of childcare doesn't mean I must lower those standards" More affordable than $150 a week? I would think that is a very affordable rate for IN-HOME daycares, never mind a daycare facility, and they think they can get quality childcare for CHEAPER than $150 a week! When I toured in-home day cares a few years back, the kind of homes I saw for an equivalant rate were trailer homes, welfare moms, and newly arrived immigrants trying to eke out a living by starting up an in-home daycare. Their 'curriculum' usually consisted of some second-hand plastic toys, a tiny gated living room, and stacks of VHS tapes lining the walls. Not that there is anything wrong with that for some people who cannot afford more, as long as they were clean and didn't have greasy teenage sons hanging around and weekly visits by a probabtion officer for the boyfriend, but unfortunately that was also something I often saw! One of these teenage sons (who would hang out watching tv with the kids) ended up commiting a murder. The woman who ran that daycare would then take her charges with her to visit her son at the county jail while he was awaiting trial! Point being, 9 times out of 10 you definitely get what you pay for. Perhaps those that cannot afford at least $150 a week should quit these low-paying jobs and start an in-home daycare of their own. Then at least they could provide those "standards" for their child (although I sometimes get the feeling that they expect higher standards out of their poorly compensated care providers than they themselves could even provide).

  8. With the Australian dollar equal to the American dollars it seems to me that an hourly rate in America is much lower then Australia. Here in Australia the hourly wage is $18to $25 an hour depending on experience. Also after school care is $25 an hour when you go through an agency. I charge $22 an hour for my nanny jobs. It is also sad to see peopele wanting to offer free rent for looking after their children . This would never happen here. How on earth do these people that take the free rent for work as a live in nanny work afford to buy their basic items if they work all day ?

  9. I personally think that offering free living quarters in exchange for nannying is akin to slavery. I believe the people who do this want to be in control of their nanny. it's scary to me.

  10. 15 years old and needs spankings? I am not sure the father is going down the right route on that one. I know as a kid the ONLY people who could spank me at that age would have to be male. I was far from being a very big kid either.

  11. i'm assuming #1 was a joke written to scare the 15 yr old kid right? i hope no one actually expects someone to spank their 15 yrold. though i must admit i often hope 90% of the ads her on clwtf are jokes and i have a feeling the opposite is true...

  12. Does #2 really say what I think it does? She will only be home 2 nights 2-3 times a month? Hiring a new mommy for free rent??

  13. I agree with "slavery". Living in someone's house and being on call to take care of the kids/clean/run errands and so forth, with no pay? Ridiculous. Labor in exchange for nothing but food and shelter is indentured servitude at best, slavery at worst. It's 2010 in the United States, folks! That shit isn't legal. It blows my mind that anyone has the nerve to even advertise for that.

  14. Why, CuriousDad? What would you have done to a female who spanked you???

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ummm

Struggled and fought to get away. I would have twisted and kicked and fought back to get out of reach. Then called the cops on them.

While I might lose the fight in the end. I would still have fought, it would have been an issue of pride, stupidity (mine) and my desire not to be treated as a child.

Unless the person doing the spanking is someone that I had been ingrained in listening too from early childhood who WAS allowed to punish me. Only my Mom or Dad in this case. I would have felt no choice but to fight back. Even if I lost. Its an issue of teenage pride.

  16. Don't let curious dad fool you! He loves to be spanked!

  17. wow someone is trying to flirt with CD. lol

  18. I kind of like the first one except for the spanking part. The kid stayed out until 9am the next morning. That was a stupid thing for him to do so hiring a "baby-sitter" to watch him until he earns back the trust might make him think twice before he ever does that again.

Again, the spanking part is not acceptable, but the rest I had no problem with.
