CL- WTF on I SAW YOUR NANNY by MPP
Photobucket
.... WHAT?!

Feature Ad:
1) Nanny ready to whip your child into shape! (Modesto)
Nanny with 15 years of experience in disciplining children. I am stern but loving. Do you have a child who likes to say no a lot? Do you have a tween, who likes to talk back? Fear not! I don't use belts for discipline, nor do I leave any marks. I specialize into turning toddlers into respectful tweens, and teens you've always dreamed of. I have glowing reviews from satisfied parents. Don't missunderstand, I am a loving and caring nanny. My rates are negotiable starting at $17 an hour, $1.50 for each additional child. Don't delay, interviews are granted on a first come, first serve basis :)

NOTE***
If you don't believe in physical discipline, I am not the nanny for you. I don't leave marks, or anything like that. I'm not into harsh beatings. Before you hire me, I would like you to sign a waiver saying that you give up the right to sue me, and you giving me permission to discipline your child in an appropriate manner.

  1. I didn't get past the first one yet...

But oh my God! This woman is nuts!! I'm not against parents spanking, but I am 100% against nannies, babysitters, STRANGERS, hitting kids.

And it sounds to me like her main point is "I don't leave marks."

"Fear not parents. I leave no marks. So there will be no proof you hired someone to smack around your kids."

  2. #1 is sick but some people will probably fall for it.

I wasn't sure why 21 was included (room and board for just a few hours a day), but then I thought, no one has a 'little' homework, 'light' cleaning, or a 'little' laundry. You either need someone to do these things or not. Trying to lure someone in like that is just dishonest.

  3. Waiting for the bashing...Sep 13, 2009, 3:19:00 PM

Clover to each their own, the last family I nannied for would tell their son in front of me that I could spank him if he acted up.....of course I never did and never would have but each family is different. Some parents approve of spanking while others don't.

  4. Wow..Number 1 is a dream come true. I've been searching to give someone permission to beat my children into submission.

Seriously, WTF is this woman thinking? Never would I hire someone and sign away a right to sue them if they hurt my child. Screw that.

  5. I'm not even going to TOUCH #1. Absolutely ridiculous.

#3 was amusing as the "manny" was only interested in talking with "people of wealth". Seriously?

  6. A family i nannied for told me all the time I could spank their son if time out didn't work. I never even considered it. Just seems so wrong to me.

Every week I'm shocked by how many people are willing to leave their kids with someone new within hours of even learning the persons name.

  7. #1 could be a troll looking to take on someone else get their information and accuse them of being child abusers to the Child Protective Services.

  8. Let me torture your children. What, she doesn't have her own to hurt?

And the guy looking for a nanny, maid, cook, and lover. Ah, that used to be called a wife.

    Good ads this week.

  9. I can't believe no one's commented on #2 yet! To me that one should be the Feature Ad and #1 be the honorable mention.

That guy's ad had lots of great lines but my favorite had to be close to the beginning where he says he's looking for someone with "old fashioned family values"!

My values are pretty old fashioned and I couldn't imagine me or anyone else with similar values ever going for this!

Although, you can't blame him for trying. Who knows? Maybe he'll get a great nanny/housekeeper/girlfriend all in the same person!

  10. OK, Village commented while I wrote my post. My thoughts exactly - he's really looking for a wife. The way he's doing it is a little creepy though.

  11. I wonder what #1's experience is, so she can ask for $17 an hour?

$2 is just weird. So he is just looking for a girl friend/wife as their is no mention of being paid.

  12. On a second thought, I don't mind beating up a number of parents that I know.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why is #8 included? The parents work full time-I am sure the little boy wants a big brother/college student type to play sports/games with afterschool.

    ReplyDelete
  14. In 8 they say they want an AuPair, but they don't want that person to live there on the weekends. Is he supposed to fly back to Europe every weekend?

  15. I feel bad for number 7.

    Im gonna email him. :)

    hehe.

    hehe.

    :)

    no, really.
    I am. lol

  16. Thanks Kim-I totally missed that part!

  17. #15 sounds like a great job to me! i'd totally apply for it if i needed a temp 5 week job. i especially liked the compensation note: "enough to make you happy." haha.

  18. I live in in New Canaan and make $20 an hour before taxes. Many of my friends in this area and surrounding make more.

    ReplyDelete
  19. NC
I think it depends where you live.
I know nannies in the dc area who make more than $20 an hour.
I have only 6.5 yrs of experience and I make $16 a nour

  20. 16 cracked me up. what famous person would hire her? she just sounds like a lonely old woman who watches too much TV.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I understand that it depends on where you live, but who would pay $17 an hour for a nanny, who is only offering, atleast in her had, to spank your child?

    ReplyDelete
  22. That should read, 'in her ad'.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Number 1 sounds like she harms the children worse than what she describes.

Perhaps number 2 should be listed as the What?! ad of the week, however, that honor goes to number 1. It's not often that you see nannies posting on CL looking for permission to abuse people's kids.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Has anybody left a comment in the past couple of days? what's up?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mom:

I was thinking the same thing. There have been no new sightings, news, or anything posted in the lsat few days. Jane and Mary must be outside playing or having coffee that they neglected us.

Jane and Mary we still love you, even if I have been asking for the ISYN nanny tee shirts for three years.....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, if that's true, I hope they're having a BLAST!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This is a feature? I can't believe there are that many BAD ads to make a feauture about. I'm speechless.

    ReplyDelete
  28. But this is great. Do people know about this? This is really funny in an odd and unassuming way. :)

    Great idea.

  29. Joy...I take offense to the "old" part on the 51 yr old woman's ad. I am 51 and I nanny 2 children who are 23 months old. I keep up with them as well as their "young" 30 yr old parents. 51 is not old. My mom is 70 and she is constantly telling me she ISNT old.
