Police on Desperate Search For Missing 8-year-old Girl - Tracy, CA.
Law enforcement agencies and volunteers continued looking for an 8-year-old girl Sunday, in the largest missing person search Tracy has seen in at least a decade.
The FBI has also been involved in the search which started at 8:15 p.m. Friday night, four hours after the little girl was last seen in the mobile home park where she lives. Sandra Cantu, a second grader from Jacobsen Elementary, was last seen around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon after leaving her neighbor's house in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park. (

OMG I hate thses stories! (And yet read them every time I see one.) It's one of my all time worst nightmares ever. Everybody who prays, pray for this child and her family!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many missing children out there but for some reason I felt compelled to print this one, Mom... I hope they find this little girl safe and soon!
ReplyDeleteMy husband & I will be taking a day off work to help search for this child or hand out fliers if they need volunteers tomorrow or anytime soon. Our family prays for her safe return. Thanks for posting this MPP.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are better.
Thank you very much, BLB. Something about this little girl just tugged at my heartstrings.
ReplyDeleteI will keep everyone updated...
MPP, I wasn't saying I hate when you post them...I just hate when they HAPPEN to families at all. I always read these stories when I find them in the news. Must be my tremendous fear of this that draws me to them.
ReplyDeleteJust as we were moving into a new and affluent neighborhood (AKA insulated, seemingly safe, where nobody felt any reason to fear EVER)when I was twelve, a girl in my grade who lived just a few houses down the street was abducted, raped and killed while walking on her way home from school one afternoon. Everybody let their kids walk anywhere they wanted to then and in that place. I guess it just hit really close to home...literally. I don't think there was ever a single day after that that I didn't look over my shoulder on the way home from school, or thought about that girl and where and what exactly happened that day and if she was afraid, etc....or any parent who ever denied their child a ride home when they asked after that. (The girl's mother had declined to pick her up from school that afternoon because she was getting ready for a party.) Now as a mom, I think often of how that mom probably will kick herself for the rest of her life over that one simple decision that changed their lives forever. It wasn't unreasonable of the mom to make her walk. It wasn't her fault. It was less than a mile home and beautiful sunny So. California afternoon. But her daughter died for that split second decision.
Anyway, I just hat, HATE that people can hurt children for no particular reason besides sick gratification.
I'm torn about the death penalty...but that's the one situation that I think maybe people deserve to die for.
That's always my biggest fear. Now my son is that age he wants to always run off. I feel like a hawk. But you have to be that way. Even when hes older I am sure I will be the same. He will probably hate me at times for being protective. But in the world we live in we have no choice.
ReplyDeleteI hope shes okay! I pray for the family to find comfort...thru this
ReplyDeleteThis is scary. I remember when I was not much older than that, it wasn't at all unusual for me to jump on my bike and ride to a friend's house that was 3 miles away. We lived in a rural area and we knew everyone that lived in between so if there had been a problem, I wouldn't have had much trouble finding help.
ReplyDeleteI hope they find her safe and sound.
