I am a nanny to a 2 yr old and a 7 yr old. they both enjoy being outside, but we live in Louisiana where it is very hot in the summertime. Does anyone have any ideas for good activities for me and my kiddos?
I think maybe a water park would be fun, or even going into the backyard and playing with the hose. Ask the family if you can get one of those little kiddy pools and that might be fun as well. If not, there is museums, the nature center, playdates and hopefully other places to take the kids even if it is inside.
What part of Louisiana? We are in Louisiana in Baton Rouge and we have a list of things that nanny does with the children. There are a few indoor play places where monthly memberships are relatively cheap ($30/month unlimited). There are probably a dozen or more local splash pads that we rotate through, all free. The zoo is cheap and nice in the mornings. All local libraries have a summer storytime series for different age groups, free, same day each week so its just a part of their schedule. Soon a new children's museum is opening near LSU.
