I am not sure how to address this... I currently nanny for a wonderful family. I love them to pieces. I also occasional babysit for mom's good friend. That is the issue: that family is rude and dad scares me. Baby is always dirty. Definitely makes me feel uncomfortable. How can I tell my current, awesome family I don't want to babysit for the friends anymore. My current boss is pregnant and don't want to upset her.
You do not need to tell current family, anything. You deal with each family separately. She is going to find out anyway. If dad really scares you, as in you feel threatened in anyway just don't go back.
ReplyDeletejust always be busy when the other family asks you to babysit. you don't have to tell the current family anything.
ReplyDeleteYou can just tell them no. It has nothing to do with your nanny family.
ReplyDeleteOops OP here- if it makes a difference or not- I forgot to mention that the families wanted to fo something together- that means watching both kids at charges houae as my full timer is allerg8c to dogs.
ReplyDeleteOh, speak up gently and quickly. If you're at all uncomfortable with the situation you shouldn't begin a nanny share. It might stress them a bit, but in the end you're preserving the relationship that does work well for YOU. This is your job and youre entitled to decide what additional challenges you're up for, and what you're not.
ReplyDeleteI definitely dislike working for families that arent tidy. I mean, live how you like for sure, but it's not going to be a good fit for me. One job I felt like I had to wear my shoes at all times because the floors were ruining my socks and heck no to bare feet!! I get being busy but it was yucky and I wasnt being paid to clean (even though I did for my own sanity). There were mornings I couldn't make bottles until I washed their dishes from the weekend. Speak up buttercup!
