6) Looking for a Babysitter – 6 days a week - (Atlanta) Be local only. Really local. A few points before we start: My child is six months old. Male. I need you 6 days a week, every week. Including EVERY Saturday, 11 to 12 hours a day, all six days. I will only pay weekly, until I am sure you will last long enough. Then I will consider paying a lump sum once a month. I need someone permanent. Someone my child can learn to love and trust. You, essentially, will be the primary caretaker. English needs to be the primary language around my son. I can appreciate some Spanish, as his father and father’s side of the family speak Spanish as well as English. If you can not comply to ALL of those points, please do not apply. He is a very easy baby. Quiet. Hangs out by himself and plays. Enjoys floor time. Drinks milk as well as eats Gerber from a spoon. Will watch movies and loves to “talk” and laugh. I am in the car business. My job requires me to be there Monday-Saturday, from 10am-8pm. Saturdays are our busiest days, and I, at times, are there from 9am-9pm. But usually the same hours on Saturday as Monday-Friday. I understand that this is a lot to take in and manage. It’s been hard trying to find someone, believe me. Remember: Be Local! I can not say that enough. I do not have time to go an hour out of my way, before or after work. Please email me with comments and rates. Don’t try and knock me over the head with price. Someone told me $300 per week. I am in high dollar sales. I know what is too much. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. My son and I appreciate it.

Wow...the first one wants to pay in WIC and Food Stamps...that is a new one. LOL.

  2. #4 bothers me- a lot! Seems she wants to pawn off the kids she cares for (in a nanny share, no less, so she probably makes good money) and only wants to pay $20 a day?? Just wrong, so wrong. I wonder if she's hiding it from the parents? She wants to "pay you personally"?

  3. Jeez if you're going to take care of #6's baby you might as well just adopt it.. Even reading that made me want to go lay in the fetal position.

  4. #3: "I will pay." You will?! A paying job!! Sign me up!

#5: "This is a non-sex offer" uh...not a good way to start an introduction.

#6: Your 6-mo baby drinks milk? Not a good sign.

  5. It's because of the first post that taxpayers have a problem w/people on Food Stamps.

  6. Wow! #2
So she wants someone to come in at 7am and not get paid for that first hour. Geeze, "my kids are late sleepers". So I am not going to pay you. Unbelievable.
Lady the person is there it doesn't matter if your kid is awake or sleeping. She is there for security reasons. She is there in case your kids wakeup early. She is there in case there is a fire or medical emergency.

    Wow oh wow!!

  7. What the hell is "high dollar sales?"

  8. @Ericsmom, I think by free time, she meant time when the nanny can do what she wants. But looking at the offer of $50/day, looks like a lot of it is "free time!"

And someone offered #6 the chance to pay 300/week for 72+ hours and she passed it up? I love that! "I deal in high dollar sales blah blah blah!" she probably pays more for a pair of shoes than she does for a week of "primary" child care! Grrrrrrrrr!

Oh yeah maybe your right. Still cheap pay

  10. I'm surprised nobody's commented about the fact that #1 is charging you rent to be their nanny! then your pay is the utilities for their apartment, and food stamps. You don't even get your own bathroom. And good luck finding a good job that's only on Monday's and Tuesday's so that you can pay to live in their extra bedroom.

  11. 1 and 6 take the cake...wanting rent when a nanny is needed 30 hours a week and a nanny for 6 days and $300 is too much??? Absolutely wtf!

  12. Sometimes I feel badly for these families. They need help, but they also need a serious reality check.

You really have to have some nerve to ask someon to work full time or longer for free or close to free.

I also can't stand adds that ask for a reasonable rate. I have to hold off replying back.

How much is to much for the wellbeing of your child?

Why is it wrong for a nanny to expect to be paid a living wage for working full time or more hours a week?
