I am looking for an agency in the Chicago area. I am having a hard time getting agencies to respond to emails and other contacts. Is there an agency that will respond and help me find a job? I am a certified teacher with experience as a live-in governess. I also have experience as a housekeeper, cook, and teacher. A family with a special needs child would be ideal. Any help would be great.
East Wind Nannies! I worked with the founder in Pittsburgh to find mu current nannying position. Awesome agency!
ReplyDeleteI live in Chicago. It is SO hard to find a job here. I was considering seeing what's out there, but it's giving me such a headache, I'm just going to stay with my current family.
ReplyDeleteI've never had luck getting an agency to respond to me. sittercity may be your best bet.

ReplyDeleteThere are a LOT of poorly-run agencies here. Check out Alter Ego Concierge. I had such a wonderful experience with them and found the most amazing family.
I got a wonderful, long-term nanny job from Second City Nannies (free website). Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteAlter Ego Concierge..Will not respond. I have been trying to talk to them for a couple years now. I will try east Wind. See if I can get response back..which I doubt! lol
ReplyDeleteAlter Ego usually responds mostly when they have jobs. I have had a wonderful experience with them as well but I got my new position thru Olive you nanny 3 months ago. Try them out.
ReplyDeleteAlter Ego posts jobs on facebook I respond to any jobs I have interest in. They don't respond. Chicago nannies was suppose to call. After several voice messages and emails I gave up.
ReplyDeleteI like Mahler Private Staffing....based out of Wisconsin, but have Chicago jobs that are really good. I've gotten jobs in Chicago and New York through Mahler.
ReplyDeleteI would agree Mahler seems to be a lot better at responding. they don't have any jobs I am interested in at the moment.
ReplyDeleteOlive You Nannies
ReplyDeleteNorth Shore Nannies (they're based in the suburbs but place in the city)
And I agree about Mahler as well!
