Making Friends...

Not sure if this type of post is allowed...but I figured I'd give it a shout. I am a nanny in NC and would love to meet fellow NC nannies...how many of you are out there and where in NC are you?

  1. I am here! I posted something similar on the chatboard. I am in Durham working with a nearly 11 month baby boy. Where are you?

  5. I am only about an hour away from Raleigh (nannycaroline), and a little less than an hour from Greensboro (lyn). We could have a nanny day out sometime! I don't mind either of those drives. I go to both places to shop every so often. :)

  6. Nice! I'm not allowed to drive him anywhere right now (nervous first-time WAHM, she takes us to the nearby museum and library) but hopefully will be able to eventually. :-D

  7. There's a nanny group in NC - I know the leader from various conferences, and she's fabulous! They are also going to be taking part in National Nanny Training Day on April 28th.

This is contact info from nanny.org, the International nanny Association:

    NORTH CAROLINA

    Triangle Area Nanny Group (TANG)
Triangle Area of North Carolina, which is Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill
    Contact: Tracey Chipps
    Email: tang@nc.rr.com

Hope this helps you NC nannies connect with some new friends!

  8. I tried that TANG email, it didn't work. And what is that on April 28th?

  9. Nannycaroline, I'll get a valid email from the TANG leader when I have a chance.

National Nanny Training Day was developed by nannybizreviews.com to encourage nannies in cities all over North America to continue their professional growth by attending a one day conference on topics related to child development and professional development. At last count there are going to be 31 events taking place from Washington state to NYC, and from CA to FL.

NNTD is being held on April 28th. The leader of TANG is planning an event, and I am doing the same for nannies where I work. One of the goals of those of us planning an event is to keep costs low enough that anyone who wants to attend can afford to do so.

  11. Here's the email and some FB connection info as well!

"tangnanny@gmail.com The best way to stay connected with TANG is to join Triangle Area Nanny Group on FB"

    Good luck connecting!

  13. Lame for me!! RTP is still a couple hours from me! I totally don't understand how I can have moved to such a big city with so many 2 professional families and yet I still cannot meet another Nanny ANYWHERE! Scratch that, right next door to my charges, their neighbor has a Nanny. Who is 72. Not exactly what I had in mind, haha. So frustrating!

  15. Sure, that sounds great! I just joined Triangle Area Nanny Group, you should too! The mom drives us to the library and to the museum sometimes, but that's it. She doesn't have me take him out. So we can hang out just us when we aren't working (unless you can go to "my" library and museum when we are there haha).
