Fat yellow straws?

RANTSome days, my employer comes home for lunch. This is usually during the time I am out running errands or on down time. She is pretty easy to get along with. She came in and I was watching HBO on demand. I went in the kitchen to tell her something and she had picked up my Mcdonald's soda and was using the straw from my drink to floss her teeth. I seriously started to vomit. I retracted back in to the living room. When she left, I threw my drink away but I am really grossed out. I am a live in nanny and I take great care to respect their belongings, special foods, privacy, etc. I kind of think this is a big deal. But now what?

Wow, just, wow. I concur with Calinanny.

I attempted to be optimistic and searched for any plausible explanation as to how this could be done without "malice", or an "accident", but could not find any logical innocent explanation for your bosses (disgusting) behavior. It's the same scenario as a waiter spitting inside a rude patron's burger. Is there any explanation you can come up with as to why your boss would be feeling so hostile and passive aggressive toward you?

  4. No, my boss is always very nice to me. She's easy to work for. She did put the straw back in my drink. There can be no doubt to what I saw. The straw was out of the drink and she was really working at it. I can't figure it out. There is a bathroom on the first floor of the house with all kinds of dental stuff in the cupboard.

  6. You should of waited in the kitchen until she put the straw back in the drink , then taken the drink and put it straight into the bin .Then walked out. All while she was standing there.

  7. I know it's not right to judge another human being based on one action, however this one action blows me out of the water!! What the heck??!
I have no explanation for your bosses behavior. All I can advise you is since you are a live-in, keep your stuff under lock and key. Esp. your toothbrush..maybe she uses it for douching. Yikes.

  9. This sounds passive aggressive to me. She was pissed you were watching tv on demand while she was paying you, so she did a disgusting thing to you. It's even steven in her mind, IMHO.

The thing I like least in this world is a passive aggressive. They have so many faces it's crazy making, they can't be trusted, and nothing they say can be taken as true, because who can tell when they are being passive aggressive or not. I can't.

All I can really say is YUCK, and I wonder what you don't know.

  10. Is there a chance she thought it was her drink? Other than that I could see no way she did this as anything but a "I bought this and can do as I please".
It still bugs me that she does do it, even if it was her straw. I'm okay with using a finger to fish out something causing you pain (as long as you wash your hands afterwards) but for some reason the idea of shoving a straw between your teeth to nonchalantly dig about. O.o
