It was my intention for it to be the total amount. Some people obviously only get things for their charges, other people gift the entire family. Perhaps that could have been more clear.
I was unsure, and so didn't answer the survey. I think there are too many variables for it to be meaningful, number of charges, which holiday they celebrate etc. For example, I have four charges, plus two others I sit for regularly on weekends. That makes six Christmas and six birthday presents, not to mention the small things for Halloween, Valentine's Day and Easter. . If I only had one charge, I would Probably buy more expensive presents, but my total would be lower.
I was, perhaps stupidly, rather confused by this. Does this mean how much do we spend on the family as a whole, or on each individual present?
