Starbuck's at Clybourn & Webster - Chicago, Illinois

Received Wednesday, September 1, 2010
nanny sighting Starbuck's Clybourn & Webster 8/30/10 10:15 a.m. Nanny is an older hispanic woman with either her own son/grandson (7 years?) little boy is 3ish, Superman shirt w/red shorts light brown longish hair, darkish sneakers. First, she spilled her hot coffee all over the boy's shorts bc she wasn't watching what she was doing, then she scolded HIM for it, was very impatient with him in general and would "text" without paying any attention to the boy whatsoever. But, she seemed to enjoy her breakfast. I am a mom. I wouldn't pay her to do the lousy job she is doing.

  1. Do you mean that this was a Nanny on duty with her own son/grandson with her and he was the one injured? Please clarify OP. Thank you.

  2. She said it was her charge. She didn't say anything about it being the nanny's child.

She also didn't say the child was injured, which he would have to be if hot coffee was spilled all over him.

I personally think this is a fake.

  3. I swear to god i'm sick to death of every other post being labled as fake. You people suck! Whatever happened to benefit of the doubt!

And to be honest, your comment makes no sense:
"She said it was her charge. She didn't say anything about it being the nanny's child."

    OP said:
"Nanny is an older hispanic woman with either her own son/grandson."

  4. I'm tired of everyone assuming people are nannies. How can you be a nanny and a relative. And I can't help but think its fake.

  5. I dont know if it's fake or not but it honestly doesn't sound like it may be the worst sighting. She shouldnt have been so short with the child and paid more attention to him but it sounds like she may have just had a really bad morning. We've all been there. This isn't ideal but it's not abusive either.

  7. I was just about to say, fake or not, at least someone posted a sightning! I miss the good old days when there were lots of posts. Does this mean there are less bad nannies? That would be nice.

  8. Meme:
No, the bad nannies are still there. The posters have just been scared off by the trolls...

  9. Poor kid, my mom was that type of person that would do something like spill a drink and blame it on me. Not a good way to grow up.

Even if this post is fake who cares? There hasn't been a post for 4 days so would you rather keep adding to previous postings or do you want a new one?

  10. Oh TC, stop trying to stir the pot. Clearly no one wants fake posts. Some of us were just stressing it was good to see a post at all, with a little sarcasm thrown in. Sorry it went over your head.

  11. This blog basically sucks. All the posts seem fake and the comments about them are bitchy and uncalled for. Why even bother?

  12. Here's something that can be discussed

  15. I really don't care if all of you scratch each others eyes out, but we should STOP attacking the OP's.

  16. Oh Futility,
We are so happy to have you here as a daily reader. Thank you for all your words of wisdom and the beautiful drawings of doves you keep emailing in. I regret that at this time, I don't have a format in which to utilize your acrylic art.

Wow, maybe when the weather cools off some of your dispositions will improve!

  18. This post could be true. Here in Boston/Cambridge I see lots of nannies with their own children and charges during school vacations and summer. Some families are understanding and allow them to tag along once in awhile for a lower rate. It's easier then finding a sub, if the nanny needed to watch her own children.

I'm hispanic and the way the nanny's reaction is pretty typical for an older hispanic woman.
Its more of a cultural thing...it's hard to explain but if your Hispanic you'd know what i'm talking about.

Also both children could have been related to the woman, its called interracial relationships. My cousins are 50% irish and 50% hispanic and to someone not hispanic they would look like 100% little irish babies. kind of like thinking someone half black and white is hispanic.

I'd say the post is good, lacks some detail but good.

why are we reporting incidents with parents? isn't the point of this site for parents to see if their nanny is caught doing something bad??? what is the parent supposed to look at the site and be like "wow I should fire myself"

  20. OP
Please give more details so these dummies will shut the hell up!

Was this a mom that had her kid with her and working as a nanny?

    PLEASE. ANSWER.

  21. She calls the woman a nanny and then says she has her own child/grandchild, age 7, with her, plus the 3 year old boy. What is so hard about that to figure out? There are two children present in this post. Who's to say how they are really related to her (or not) but the OP was clear on there being two children...one assumed to be the "nanny's" child, the other her charge.

  22. Omg meme, I read that post 6x and missed where it said 2 damn kids! Not sure why, I guess because of the way the sentence ran together and the age of the child was questioned.

    Um, thank you!

  23. Costanza, everyone makes mistakes. I think you'll be forgiven, though this board has been tough these days. I've seen innocent questions with simple answers destroyed by people whose intentions seem to be taking out their frustrations on people. Yes, it happened to me...in case you couldn't tell, lol.

This is probably a reason, if not the main reason, that people don't post. I LOVE hunting for CL-WTFs, but people get so nasty, I don't even bother anymore, to be honest. I've seen nanny 'sightings' and have been reluctant to post because people are just so nasty that it's not even worth it. It's sad. And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
