How would you handle a nanny that made such foolish choices at to show your 7 year old daughter her bowel movements? The nanny has gone through extremes to point out the corn and peanuts? She even made a grand gesture of using her iphone to take a picture of any especially long bowel movement and posted this somewhere. All of this, she shared with my seven year old. My husband thinks its no big deal, but everything about it makes me sick and question the nanny's sanity.
I would not leave my child with her for one minute. That is not normal and it is a 'big deal'. I agree with you-it sounds like there may be some mental (or at least maturity) issues at play. She should not be anyone's nanny.
ReplyDeleteThis can't be real. This seriously can't be real. It's just too messed up! I'm going to stay in my pretty little world of butterflies and ponies and act like I never read this.
ReplyDeleteOh, please. Do you really even have to think about this? Do you really need advice on how to deal with something so incredibly obnoxious and gross?
ReplyDeleteJust speak up and tell her to keep it to herself where it belongs. You're the boss, act like it.
God! Stupid parents are annoying. And I'm a parent, not a nanny.
I second your opinion Gross....
ReplyDeleteDo you really have to ask us this??? She is wacko...the nanny, of course. :O
Geerrroooooooosssssss!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about it. Now your daughter will be able to alert you if the nanny gets worms so you won't end up like the poor family of this nanny. http://isawyournanny.blogspot.com/search?q=mpp%27s+menace
ReplyDeleteOK, I've thought things over and decided you should probably let her go, but not before going to www.turdtwister.com and ordering her a parting gift.
ReplyDeleteThe nanny sounds really gross. I would look for another nanny.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an incredibly misguided science lesson on digestion. Let her go and find a more...delicate nanny.
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I wasn't eating when i read this...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, that is weird, very very weird and is far from appropriate behavior!
Ew.... that's gross! I wouldn't leave your child with her anymore... something is off there.
ReplyDeleteSince you say this has been going on for some time, my first hope is that you are just now finding out about the whole thing and did NOT keep her on for even one more day after you found this out.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you hired a young, inexperienced, unprofessional nanny...which you ought to know from this site, if you have been here for any length of time, is completely unacceptable. This is the person raising your child for a significant part of her waking hours, for gosh sake!
And lastly, I am appalled that your husband finds this behavior to be no big deal. How old is he? Please tell me that you are very young and he is just coming out of his immature youth, where such things are apparently hilarious to guys. My husband would have called her after the first instance and told her not to come back. My own sister engaged in similar types of inappropriate behavior with our oldest son, and as a consequence he stopped being allowed to be alone with her, and our younger two never have been alone with her.
Get rid of this nanny today, before your daughter loses all ability to learn to act like a young lady and how to keep private things private, and how to know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate....and propbably so many other things she is not learning from this poor excuse for a nanny. Do you even possibly imagine that she is otherwise mature and a good role model besides this "one odd quirk?" No way!!!!! I can pretty much guarantee that you would be appalled to find out everything that goes on in your absence.
The nanny is almost acting like a person obsessed with scat. It is more commonly a sexual things amoung adults who share the same desires. This in itself is really not that bad... I have seen worse. Sometimes people have strange fetishes and this is hers. Bizarre and gross for most people. Perfectly normal to her. I would ask her to stop because it is unsettling and vomitous. You can't change the way she is but you have the ability to deflect the habit away from your family.
ReplyDeleteLook, that's from the Babe Ruths we ate. I just ate. Now lets check yours.
ReplyDeleteI do think it's a little weird, but I am going to disagree slightly. The fact is, children are curious about poop. My little one wants to see his before he flushes it, and if we have to use the facilities together (like in a public place) and I have to go #2, he has asked to see mine as well. I feel weird about it, but I don't shame his interest. So, although I think this nanny may be exaggerating the issue, it isn't all that abnormal.
ReplyDeleteI say it's one thing for a "little one" to be curious when he is small enough to have to accompany hus mom into the public bathroom stall (and you are so right not to shame him for it, but simply act nonchalant)...but quite another for a nanny to purposefully call a seven year old into the bathroom after she has pooped and make merry with her about the contents of the toilet.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, poop fetishes typically have a sexual rrot to them when exhibited in adults. It is not at all normal...and I have to say again, more than just a little weird. I think this nanny is sick.
In defense of the nanny . .. . .. . I too think Nanny could be a little too interested in bodily functions. However, Oprah, as you may recall, also went over this with a doctor ON TEEVEE, reviewing the size, shape, and gauge of a proper poop. I understand there was more than one show devoted to bowel movements.
ReplyDeleteSo, maybe the nanny in not inhibited about such things, and is teaching the child about different kinds and types, just like the Oprah show. That could be where she got her information to share with the child.
Yeah, the person who wrote this post sounds like a scat fetishist. I really doubt it's a NANNY though. Probably some dumb wanker who wants the excitement of reading all the replies.
ReplyDeleteVillage,
ReplyDeleteAre you serious? I have seen shows where doctors spoke about medical reasons for poop being one or another way. But that doesn't mean a nanny needs to show a 7 year her own poop or take pictures of world record sized poops to put up on the web...with the child watching!
Can't you see the difference, people?
I watched the poop segments because they were informational...but never did anything like that ever even remotely enticed me to want to post pictures of my own excrement on the web...or show it to my children for that matter.
I cannot believe anybody is excusing this as being anything less than the sick, disgusting thing that it is. And, worst of all, you may convince the mom that it is OK to leave her child in this idiot's care.
I tell you what...watch something like this come out in a custody or child abuse case and see how "normal" it sounds to a judge and CPS.
While I find absolutely no way to justify this disgusting behavior, I'm baffled at how you make the giant leap to a custody case case and involve a judge & CPS? You're really beyond the pale sometimes, mom.
