Received Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Nanny with shoulder length fake yellow braids and a 2 year old girl spotted swearing up a storm and trying to pick a fight with anyone she crossed paths with. If this is your nanny, you need a new one ASAP!
ty ny nanny! :) I do think this was a good siting sent in, I just wanted to know if op had any more details to share, which was my intent in making the little joke. I am assuming it was nanny swearing, but wouldn't be surprised if the child followed along, as children tend to model the behavior of their caregivers.
wow why was this lady picking fights? who does that? You shouldn't swear in front of children, but how do we know this isn't her child? There are a lot of young mommas out there.
oh, jason castro you should take a visit to my city: older moms, grandmothers all with mouths worse than sailors! it has absolutely nothing to do with being young.
umass...i never once said that her age was the reason for the swearing. I'm just saying that it could have been the mother. and I could care less if you think Jason Castro is hot or not, personally.
Don't assume that I said she was swearing BECAUSE she was young. I just stated that just because she was with a little kid, doesn't mean she was the nanny, I was just pointing out that there are bad moms out there just as much as there are bad nannies.
Ignore Umass, she has to chime in on each and every sighting. I visit this board once a day, but obviously "some other people" haven't anything else to do, as she literally comments on every post... and everyone's comments on the post... and everyone's comments on her comments to the comments on the post... and on and on and on....
so sorry to have misunderstood your point. thank you for clarifying it so spectacularly.
also, if you don't care for my opinion, that's fine, but posting a moniker with your favorite celeb's name in it is definitely opening up the door for others' opinions, fyi.
to keiko/haha: if you look at the other people posting on this site, you will see that my moniker along with many many others are seen on comments for every post. So your attack/insult is pretty ridiculous if you ask me, and it was obviously intended to be insulting. Great job, give yourself a pat on the back for attacking an innocent poster who was just trying to put forth an opinion! If I have misunderstood a certain posters' intent, I am sure said poster is more than capable of responding to me/ignoring me all on their own without your juvenile insults.
umass totally just proved haha and keikos point by writing a whole freaking paragraph in response to what was said. seriously umass get a freaking life.
Keiko.. I happen to think Umass is one of the most open and honest posters on this board. You're just jealous because you don't have any fans! And 'so true', why don't you come up with your own opinions instead of being such a tagnut.
keiko, you are obviously very thorough during oyur "one visit per day" to the site. So your spending one huge block of time on here each day is somehow a superior blogging style to Umass possibly glancing at the new comment section every now and then and responding to interesting posts? That's how I do it and it really isn't a huge investment of time. At least not as much as memorizing who posts what and how much on every single thread seems like it would.
Now leave Umass alone. Your criticisms are ridiculous. Makes me wonder if you are the same person who posted the hateful diatribe about Umass yesterday...only under a different name. Maybe Umass looks like she posts more than you only because she uses the same moniker all the time? And she takes the time to contribute...which we all enjoy because hsr posts are thoughtful and often witty.
OP, this nanny sounds absolutely disgusting, and if you are able to remember any more details, it might help the parents to recognize her and their child iF they happen to visit here, which we can only hope.
Um, I posted this and let me tell you it was NOT the mom, it was the nanny. The nanny was swearing at a lady who said "excuse me" when the nanny bopped her on the head with her giant bag. She threatened to fight the poor woman and went off on her with plenty of expletives in front of everyone, including the B&N employee who was just trying to keep the "photo with Elmo" line in order. I know the underlying subtext of "how do you know it was the nanny". I am an African American woman who happens to have 2 blonde, blue eyed daughters, but let me make it clear ... this was a NANNY! I have never posted here before, but this was so egregious, that I felt it neccessary. I really feel bad for the person who has this woman working for her. I have had the same nanny for 10 years, and I see something like this and it makes me sooooo grateful to have her. I am not just a SAHM who is trying to give nannies a hard time and feel righteous.
I apologize for getting pissy. I usually do appreciate Umass's opinions, she is actually one of my faves to read lol. but I just didn't like how she went off track to say her opinion on my monkier.
Umass, I do appreciate and care about your opinion about what is said here, but not who you think is hot or not.
and to the haters,(keiko/so true etc) I think you're ridiculous. It really doesn't make senst to tell the regular posters that we have nothing better to do than to comment on posts when you yourselves are posting with a different moniker each time. Who knows how much you are on this board and to be honest who cares? The point of being here is to contribute to the discussion. We all go off track sometimes, but to intentionally insult other posters is really, truly a waste of time.
I love Umass, too! I'm a huge fan of her sometimes witty/sometimes sarcastic posts. ;) It really bothers me though, when every other week it seems, a poster will get singled out and picked on.
Oh my gosh I love Jason castro! I didn't realize that was why you were upset. Umass was just being silly, as she always has. I toink I can safely speak for her is saying that it was not intended in any way to flame you. More so before than now...but really all along...Umass has posted about certain celebrities that she loves, and she throws those comments in at really random times, just to make it all the more funny. I suspect she saw you mention a celebrity crush and thought she had a kindred spirit in the celebrity love game. She has many times said "so and so is not as hopt as Michael Pitt." It is SO TOTALLY NOT PERSONAL when she does that.
thank you mom for understanding! :) I like to think that my michael pitt crush is much like my late mother's crush on elvis: he was always just the cat's meow to her! :) I meant no ill will towards jason castro. he's not that bad by the way, the american idol jason castro. :) he's reasonably hawt!
ty pbp, I like you too! and I too wish miserly would post more! :)
what are you, like the Trinity? Three in one? Because it just seems like so likely that all these anonymous people are sticking up for you like you had such a great point.
I'm calling you out. You are all the same person with a bigger, more pathetic life then you could ever accuse any one else of having.
UMASS, that was a good point and a good question. And I LIKE your opinion too :)
ty midwest nanny. I really do not try to start trouble here. It is my favorite blog on the net, so obviously I enjoy commenting and hearing from posters such as yourself and everybody else.
regarding swearing in front of kids, I think this is inexcusable: the best way to teach children to behave is by modeling the behavior you wish them to have. I would be livid if I caught my nanny saying inappropriate things in front of or god forbid to my child. of course in real life we all slip and say the occasional "oh sh**" but those instances should be few and far between.
I live in a major city and I cringe when I am at the mall with my child and I hear people swearing and being disgusting.
A little story of something that I actually smiled at regarding swearing: when I was walking my child in her stroller past a few typical city teenage boys, one of them was swearing loudly and the other boy motioned to me and my child and shushed him saying "Dude, shut up yo it's a baby..." and the kid who swore actually looked at me and said, "Sorry, my bad," and he said it pretty sincerely! It actually made me feel pretty good! lol They were probably about 15 or 16 and they acknowledged that they were sorry so I thought that was very cool!
do I curse in my life, and in my writing? you bet I do, but there is as time and place for everything and around kids it's just not cool!
Wow Umass...you're on a roll tonight. And that is agreat story. I can just see the boys doing that. People have so little faith in teenagers...but really they're just stuck in the middle part between being kids and grown ups and they are desperately searching for "what to be." As much as they confuse us sometimes...I think, if possible, they may be even more confused by themselves than we are. Oh, it's such a hard time. How many of you, when looking back on your lives, think of Junior High, or the beginning of High School as the best time of your life? How many thought it kinda sucked?
The swearing...it's like a rite of passage. And truthfully I think part of that comes from them trying act older...by modeling what they see adults doing, and so perceive to be "adult behavior."
uh...who was swearing, the nanny or the two year old?
ReplyDeletecare to give some more details, OP?
Umass... uh, DUH.
ReplyDeleteSTFU alli. It's a valid question. I've seen adults swear and the kids followed right along copying them.
ReplyDeleteallison,
ReplyDeletelighten up, chief. I was joking.
duh.

(sorry jane I had to squeeze that one in.)

keiko... lol. that really made me laugh. as much as i think umass has good opinions most of the time, it's really true!
ReplyDeletejason castro,

I know a three year old girl who swears like a sailor. Guess where she learned this....her father, the white shoe lawyer!
ReplyDeleteAnd, BTW, I'm a Umass fan too!
thank you manhattan nanny,
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of yours as well! :)

I think my Jason Castro/Michael Pitt might be John Cusack. Well, no. A clarification: John Cusack as Lloyd Dobler in Say Anything. *Swoon*
ReplyDeleteKeiko, Hahaha, and so true
