Ipswich woman unknowingly aids in Kidnapping BOSTON -- An Ipswich woman who told police Clark Rockefeller paid her $500 to drive him from Boston to New York City says she had no idea the man was allegedly kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter. Aileen Ang, a family friend of Rockefeller, told WBZ-AM he asked her to pick him up Sunday at the Boston Sailing Club. When she arrived, Ang said Rockefeller's daughter, Reigh, was with him. During the ride, Ang said the girl seemed happy, telling her father she loved him. Rockefeller responding that he loved her even more. After she dropped them off, Ang said she learned an Amber Alert had been issued in Massachusetts and immediately called police. Boston police have said Ang and another driver who helped Rockefeller were unwittingly involved in the alleged kidnapping. (Read Clark Rockefeller had planned abduction for six months.)

A divorced father with a murky background snatched his 7-year-old daughter during a supervised weekend visit and may be trying to flee the country on a 72-foot yacht, police say. Boston police said Tuesday they had no new information on the whereabouts of Clark Rockefeller, 48, or his daughter, Reigh Boss. Authorities alleged that Rockefeller, who they said has used several aliases, grabbed the girl Sunday during a visit supervised by a social worker and fled in a sport utility vehicle driven by another man. 1. I feel bad for the social worker that got injured, and for the mom who is probably really upset.

  2. Why is it sad? He loves her and wants to be with his child, sad that she may not se her mother again but keeping a child from her parent is bound to cause emotional upheaval for the other parent. The mother had the child in London and dad did not see her much. I know he won't hurt her and wil take care of her so not worried.

  3. friend,
this situation is sad for all involved. It is sad when both parents want to be with their child and they cannot. It is sad when these parents cannot come to an understanding, and when they feel it is necessary to live so far away from the remaining parent. It is most sad when the parents use the child as a pawn in order to hurt the other parent, because the main victim in this is the child. This child may very well be taken good care of, but the lasting effects of this situation will only cause pain and bad feelings in her future. I feel for everyone involved, a situation where emotions are running so high that they cannot think clearly. Furthermore, I am angry with a "system" in which you can't win sometimes, no matter how hard you try to do what the courts say is right, sometimes the courts do not do their job.

Of course this situation is sad for all involved. I can't imagine this. My prayers are with all of them.

  4. This little girl may adore her Dad now, but he must not realize, or even care, about the damage he will cause later with the resentment that will eventually build in this child because he took her away from her Mother.

  5. While this may be sad for all concerned, let's not forget that when a parent is allowed only supervised visitation, there is often a valid reason for that. As in that person may be unbalanced. Does anybody now doubt that this dad should have had supervised visitation only?

I am guessing that if she is not returned quickly, this little girl's life will not benefit in any way from "being with her dad who loves her."

His best chance at being with her more (and if her were completely sane he would have realized this) is to live a decent life and show that he is capapble and can be trusted to be with her alone.

  6. The dad has been arrested, and the girl is OK. He sounds like a dodgy character, he has used several aliases, so there was probably a very good reason he was on supervised visits.

  7. I am so glad for the happy ending. I cannot believe that this guy was wanted in connection with a missing couple in Souther CA. What a checkered passed. His brother in Germany did not seem to think much of him either. What is up with all these people forgetting or not giving the information requested by the police?
They should put this guy and Casey in a 5x5 cell together and see who gets their memory back first!!
