"Charges dropped for mom who left tot in car"
ReplyDeleteIt's never o.k., under ANY circumstance to leave a child alone in a car ... attended or unattended. Unless you're close enough to touch the car, it is wrong.
did you read the story?
ReplyDeleteshe didnt go in the store. she left the car in a loading zone with the alarm in and walked her older kids to the salavation arm kettles to give money to the poor!
Yah, from what that story states, that woman didn't do anything wrong. They just made a scapegoat out of her and got up in arms because she didn't cooperate with them. A mother is accused of being negligent, when she CLEARLY wasn't....I'd probably be a bit defensive with the officers too.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite a bold accusation.
Assuming what we're being told in the article is accurate (sleeping child in locked car with flashers on, mom within 30 feet at all times), she didn't deserve that treatment.
Go to the Starbucks-kids-left-in-car post and read Deni's comment about the woman who left her children in the car for almost a half hour, in the COLD...THAT'S someone who should be arrested and fined.
Not the woman from this article though....
Yes, I read the post. I didn't say the Mom should have been hog tied and hung ... I just said it was wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion. ☺
I can barely stand to watch those videos. That nanny needs to be put into a cell with someone like me. She would NEVER do it again.
ReplyDeleteThat poor woman. I was in the process of adopting my 8 yr old GD. This was 8 yrs ago. SHe was sick and I had to open the shop. I asked a neighbor to watch her for an hour so I could go in,open up and be back with in an hour. Well the nieghbor had to get ready for work so instead of getting ready in my place went down stairs to shower and my GD played with the phone and called 911. I was on my way home when I got a call from the police. They were in my home.
ReplyDeleteI got there ASAP and found out what happened and this AA cop went after me. WHY? Because I had this original Confederate flag that had been in our family for a 110 years and it was kept in a glass container.
It was going to the school as it was Black History month and they were going to use it. Apparently this set him off . He called the school, my employer and friends and every one in the building where I lived! He told my GD that she was right in calling the police on me and she should call every time I do something BAD. He would not talk to the neighbor and never mentioned her in the report. He was so rude that I finally said charge me with something or get out. Then he issued a warrant for my arrest and I was never served ornotified about it. I finally found out when a job I applied for told me about it. I called a friend that was on the force here and he came over to my house and took my prints and picture and said he would try to help as he knew that I was adopting my Gd. Social services were appauled at his behavior and came to my defense. I was in court for 2 years over this. Finally the "extreme cruelty charges" were thrown out. It will cost me thousands of dollars to get this thrown out of DOJ. My neighbor was so upset over this she developed an ulcer over it. I kept going to court and it was delayed everytime.
The school finally told him they were not giving him any info without a affidavid by a judge. He would not leave me alone. The adoption went thru with no problem and the adoption judge appologized to me for what happened as she knew that I had someone to watch my GD at the time. There are over 2.5 million children in the USA that are latch key children, mine was not one of them. But for this cop to go after me when I had someone who was supposed to be there for an hour and not even talk to this person was outrageous. This lady better watch her back as I read what his commanding officer said and how they backed him up, they will try to get her ,trust me, for something else. What is really weird is that 40 years ago I too was an cop and would have never ever acted this way. I will be retiring soon and when I do and move I am going to go after this guy and make them pay for me to get this off of DOJ. I have never been arrested for anything in my life but to make sure that I am not harassed I will move before I go after him.
