Foster Father-Copps Food Store in Middleton, WI.

I saw something yesterday that I thought I would share with your readers. What I saw was wonderful and really made my day. While at the checkout yesterday, I observed a white man, mid to late 20's with two boys, 3-7 years old, both with dark skin and eyes, so I know he wasn't their father. The boys looked to be from the Middle or Far East, due to their features and skin coloring. The man was wonderful with these boys! He encourgaed them to unload the groceries, answered all their questions, and the man really enjoyed his time with them. He used kind nuturting words and a gentle voice with them, when the older boy took the man's wallet and started going through it, the man was wonderful with his voice, that I loved seeing this interaction. I complimented him on how well he did with the children, and he explained they were his foster children of 3 weeks. Not a nanny sighting, but a WONDERFUL display of love and affection for foster children!

  2. That is heartwarming, especially since you hear so many horror stories about foster care. Thanks for posting OP.

  3. You can never get enough "Daddy" sightings! Men sometimes get a bad rap as far as fathering/childcare ... so it's always nice to read about 'one of the good guys'!
    P.S.
I got a great guy! I always say if I were to write up a list of what I would deem the best qualities in a Daddy ... I got him!

  5. WONDERFUL!! In a world where many children are growing up without a father.......I commend this man for his gentle spirit and love for these children. I have an adopted brother and would love to adopt a child.......'can't convince my DH......but, God can convince him! I'm praying and waiting. Thanks OP for making my day!

  7. Good sighting and very heartwarming. One thing did bother me as a foster parent myself. The fact that a child is a foster child is supposed to be on a “need to know” basis. It is a huge breech of the confidentiality agreement of fostering (at least in our state) to tell a stranger that the children you are with are foster children. I have let people know that are close to me that I am a foster parent. They understand that when I say a child is staying with me for a while that they are foster children but I do not confirm their status as fostered. He could have said that the children have been staying with him for a while if he said anything at all. He could have just said, “Thank you.”
