Late afternoon on Monday, (11/5) I see this woman who looks like she might be part Asian and part cat or maybe she just had some bad cosmetic surgery. She has dark hair, almost black, cut short, is a white woman, medium height and build; with a little paunch. Maybe she was pregnant. So she is taking care of these boys and they are leaving a parking lot and heading to a restaurant. I know this by what she said about their manners. She had one of the boys by the elbow and was using this bitch-witchy voice with him telling him he was going to chew with his mouth closed and not make a peep. The boy says, "you're not my mom" and she says, "And thank God for that. Thank God. I don't even think your mom wants that job". The little boy was really quiet. It was so mean. I caught up to them and said "Hi, you've got two great looking little boys, don't you". She smiled tightly and let me pass. After I left, I heard one of the boys, presumably the one who was just yelled at burst in to tears. Her response? "That's right? And where's your mother now? Hmm. I don't see her". This was either a nanny or maybe a stepmother, because she was dressed pretty sharp but the mother of these children needs to get her boys away from this woman! ! ! The boys were both fair haired and skinned, wearing identical blue on blue fleeces. They had light hair and were maybe 5 years old. This was really quite brutal. This was at the White Plains City Center, exiting the garage area.
Disgusting. Sometimes the verbal comments cause more damage than a physical beating. I'm not justifying either... but hateful words directed towards a child who's personality is developing can do serious damage!
ReplyDeleteThat is disgusting really.
ReplyDeletebut, give us stepmothers a break and stop perpetuating the evil stepmother (perhaps it was a stepmother). us stepmothers love our kids too!
Where do you see stepmothers being attacked on this blog?
ReplyDeleteI didn't like where she said "this was either a nanny or perhaps a stepmother"
ReplyDeleteunreal,
ReplyDeleteare you for real? what should she have said? clearly this was NOT the mother. That much we know. It very well could have been a stepmother. Just as much as it could have been a nanny. It is okay to villify nannies?
What a hateful, hurtful, awful thing to say to a child. I really hope the poor boys' mom is alive and sees this and that the poor kids can somehow be protected from this evil excuse for a caretaker. Whether nanny, stepmother, aunt or whomever, she should NOT be in charge of children.
ReplyDeleteStepmothers have a bad enough name in this society without people perpetuating the evil stepmother who hates her stepchildren myth-that is all I am saying. If you are not a stepmother, you won't understand.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hateful sad woman, whomever she is.
ReplyDeleteTo Unreal: I have been a step mother and a good one, so I know how you feel, but I can also tell you they are not all so good. Then again neither are mothers.
The point here is not whether this evil witch was the step mom, nanny, aunt or neighbour. The point is her treatment of the children was abusive; plain and simple. Hopefully their mother fins this.
^^ I agree-whoever the woman was she should not be talking to children like that.
ReplyDeleteso no one is going to comment on the fact that the kid was rude? I've noticed that people on here overlook the behavior of the children in favor of bashing the caretaker, only some of which deserve it in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteand what exactly does her plastic surgery or her voice (bitch witch?!?) have to do with proper child care?
"...part Asian or part cat or maybe she just had some bad cosmetic surgery. She has dark hair, almost black, cut short, is a white woman, medium height and build; with a little paunch. Maybe she was pregnant."
ReplyDeleteyou are a bitch.
"Asian or part cat or maybe she just had some bad cosmetic surgery"
ReplyDeleteOP, Please tell me you can tell the difference between an Asian and a cat.
This woman is a cunt and all the asian nannies on the board defend her?
ReplyDeletesick!
kelly let us not get overly dramatic. Cats have almond shaped eyes. Certainly you have seen someone who has had a botched face lift with her eyelids pulled back against her temples.
ReplyDeleteNot everything needs to be turned in to a race war.
Shame on you Kelly. I thought you were one of the brighter ones.
Here is one of the most famous cases of BAD PLASTIC SURGERY.
Do you know what they call her?
http://www.banterist.com/archivefiles/images/plastic_surgery_amok.jpg
And I think her voice was described as being bitchy-witchy. Which is usually shrill and demaning. Not quite appropriate for a nanny (or a stepmother!)
ReplyDeleteT.R.
ReplyDeleteHow was Kelly turning this into a race war? She was being sarcastic.
Duhhhhh!!
...or she could have been an aunt, or Mom's best friend, or Dad's mistress..
ReplyDeletePerhaps she was not the nanny. Or the stepmom.
Perhaps she is just an nasty ole thang who's pants were on too tight.
It's too bad for that little guy that someone would be that cruel. The things she said to him are the things you can think, but not voice....
Way to take it off subject guys!
ReplyDeleteOP is clearly being sarcastic and describing the woman in the most unflattering terms possible because she was such a witch to the child. It probably helped her burn off a little steam to be able to do so. It doesn't sound to me like she is trying to make a racially unfriendly statement...just describing the woman.
And it is natural to wonder if a woman who is extra well dressed, may have had plastic surgery, is on her way to a restaurant and says outright that she is not the mom is someone other than a nanny...such as a step mom, aunt or friend (although no real friend would treat another friend's child like this.)
I any event, I just hope the mom sees this. What that lady said could be emotionally devastating to a child...especially if he secretly wonders how important he really is to his mom (which he might if she is leaving him with such an abusive woman.)
T.R.,
ReplyDeleteI was not trying to be dramatic, I was very serious. There are better ways to describe a botched cosmetic surgery job than to make fun of Asians, period. I am not backing down, I have Asian friends and this post would offend them. shame on YOU for tolerating prejudice. Go visit a retirement home and talk to some Asian seniors.
Sincerely,
Kelly.
Nice picture, TR.
ReplyDeleteWTF?
Asians look like cats? and you look like baboons with red blotches on their bottoms, you racist morons.
ReplyDeleteWho are the nutters on this board?
ReplyDeleteIt's a commonly known fact that WHITE people who have bad plastic surgeon can come away looking asian. While that may be a fine and flattering (and natural) look on an Asian person, on some frizzy haired yenta from Pound Ridge, it is not.
Thanks TR for the picture.
This is a post about a boy who is being ridiculously mistreated. Please stop trying to skew the posts away from the point!
ReplyDeleteWhen you see a nasty ass bitch mutilating a child's self esteem, insulting the child's mother and scaring the child, you don't usually pause to describe her "radiant complexion" or "soft shiny hair".
OP was witness to grotesque abuse.
So she said something nasty describing her. HER. Not Asians. Not cats.
Jeez!
When stretching the skin backwards from the cheek and brow, overextension of said skin resulted in a slanted eye appearance. Some cases are quite extreme. If you did not know that you were looking at a botched face lift, you might be inclined to wonder of the person's ethnicity. That's normal.
ReplyDeleteEnough with the PC BS.
My daughter just e-mailed me a link to this site. What the woman in question did to the child is unfair. I also want to say that I am Asian and I am offended by the Asian/cat comparison. Clearly none of you are Asian, therefore you do not realise the extent of the description's hurtfulness. If this was a homophobic joke, a slavery joke, or an anti-Semitic description, there would have been uproar, but because the Asian look is the butt of this joke, it is taken lightly. My daughter and I are shocked.
ReplyDelete335 am-
ReplyDeleteum yaaaaaaaa right.
what kind of idiot daughter are you pretending to have that has to troll the internet and run to mommy? in the big, big world, with all that is going on-you have time for this?
ya right.
Yes the troll started at 2PM.
ReplyDeleteHow unfortunate that any person would distract from such a story of a child being emotionally abused. Better the dialogue in the comments should address the ramifications of emotional abuse, how to intervene and the long term affects on a child who is treated like that.
I hope this woman is recognized and taken to task for her outrageous behavior. That little boy needs to know that his mother loves him and loves being his mother. As I imagine is the case.
helaine,
ReplyDeleteyou anti-semetic witch! How dare you describe Jewish women as "frizzy haired yenta from Pound Ridge"?
You should be glad you're in this country, and not abandoned on some doorstep as a child, forced into a life of sucky-fucky to overweight tourist!
I'm shocked no one speaks out on helaine's anti-semitism.
I am neither Asian nor Jewish, and I find the disparaging remarks offensive. When posts and responses contain racism, classism, name calling, or vulgar language, I can't respect that person's judgement or opinion.
ReplyDeleteYes, if accurate, this is a horrible woman, and I hope the parents see this.
A Nanny
You're trying way too hard, Manhattan Moomy. I'm a Jewish woman-mommy-nanny employer and UES resident.
ReplyDeleteThen you're the worst kind, helaine. You're a self hating jew. You would have gladly signed up to be one of the capos working in the camps.
ReplyDeleteOh Manhattan Mommy,
ReplyDeleteAre you a liberal? Because you're reaching. The person I referred to in Pound Ridge is not even Jewish. Or are you aware of something that I am not? Do you know what a yenta is? I suggest you go out and get a job, your mind is obviously underusualized as you sit typing nonsense on the Internet and chomping on bon bons.
Part cat? Brilliant!!
ReplyDeletei think i might know exactly who these kids are, they sound like neighbors of friends of ours, and if im right, this lady is actually really nice and the kids like her a lot. thats what it seems like if these are the kids that i think your talking about, but i will have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteHow could these kids possibly like this vile and disgusting-sorry excuse for a human being?
ReplyDeleteHow did you recognize her?
ReplyDeleteHer hideously disfigured face; the result of an unscrupulous plastic surgeon with a penchant for felines?
Do tell.
Um, Jane Doe, can't you get rid of all of the racial insults being tossed back and forth? I think the comments here are just plain sad. Helaine and Manhattan Mommy, please, act your ages.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone ever catch their nannies being so nasty from reading these postings?
ReplyDeleteEvery now and then it seems that we hear of a family connecting to their nanny through this site. I would love to see a "Follow Up" section where we could find out if a post was successful.
ReplyDeleteOn America's Most Wanted they have updates. It is sort of inspirational because it lets people know that it really does work if people are willing to watch, pay attention, and take action.
Jane Doe, maybe this would be an effective form of advertising for you. It would be great to see a headline on AOL, the news, etc., where this site helped catch a vicious nanny or two. If I had a nanny, was aware of this site, and knew it was effective, I would be taking at least a quick peek at the postings every single day...no matter how much I loved or trusted my nanny.
Sad thing is, I figure a family would be entirely embarressed to come on here and admit they hired a piece of crap Nanny ... but it would be nice, huh? Once in a while, we get an update. But I'm sure this site does alot of good that we don't know about ... it's popular enough now that I'm sure some parents log on and are reading these posts checking up to see if their Nanny is on here after they have tucked the kiddies in at night - at least that's what I'd like to think.
ReplyDeleteTo Rachel, 6:29 ... you are the voice of reason. Great post.
Wonderful. Children are being abused and all the "race police" try to do is turn the issue into politically correct B.S.
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of the "race police" taking offense with any comment and trying ever so hard to find racism in EVERYTHING.
Get a life. A sense of humor. A hobby perhaps.
Ok, so yes the woman was a complete bitch but that kid was also a brat and for all we know that kid has been insulting her like that for sometime now. NOT THAT THAT MAKES HER BEHAVIOR OK. It's not, it's appalling. But being constantly degraded (if she is) could make someone crazy. That kid's mom needs to make sure he learns some respect and the nanny needs to quit because she obviously isn't happy with this family. I feel sorry for the younger kid who's stuck in this mess.
ReplyDeleteDear Helaine,
ReplyDeleteI think that as a Jewish person you should already know that when you call someone a yenta, the implication is that the person is Jewish. Although technically a yenta (a gossiping chatterbox) could be of any religion, in this context on this message board, and in most contexts, calling someone a yenta implies that you are talking about a Jewish woman. For this reason, your remarks appear anti-semitic to those who are reading them, even if you did not intend this. Please reconsider your usage of words like yenta in this and other contexts, because they do in fact promote anti-semitism: by allowing a tolerance for negative Jewish stereotypes. And yes, this holds even if the writer (like you) is Jewish. Thank you.
This is just another bit of proof of how Americans are so fascinated with other peoples lives, and how nasty we can be when someone doesn't look like us. I am sure that it really satisfied you and made you feel like such a big, good person by "catching up" to her to tell her she has great boys!
ReplyDeleteI think I now this person. She is not a nanny.
ReplyDeleteI am a grandmother. I don't like reading about nasty nanny's. I wonder if she knows we don't like people like that?
ReplyDelete
