Madison Square Park in NYC

Received Wednesday, October 31, 2007
Nanny acting very volatile and frantic, obviously buzzing on something. Was drinking coffee from a steel and black coffee container. Kept swatting at herself and the child she was taking care of. You might think I am joking, but this peculiar behavior attracted the attention of several people nearby. Nanny was white, gangly and had a headband in her hair. She was with a little girl that was dressed in a puffy dress that may have been part of costume. Looked like 1/2 of a fairytale type outfit. Dress was blues and whites. Little girl had dark hair, big brown eyes and was wearing a greenish color of quilted jacket. Quilted but lightweight. I hope I gave you enough details. There were no flies or bugs swarming, so hard to figure out what she was doing.

  1. That was NO nanny.
    That was Britney Spears.

  3. This does sound bizare! Swatting at herself, and a child??? I can't fathom a reason a side from bugs, (which you stated wasn't the case.) It sounds like somebody needs to start enlisting random drug tests in their home!

  4. Sounds like she has a mental disorder (can't pin point the name of which one at the moment), but it causes people to think there are actual bugs around them and invading them, when in fact there are none. Was she scratching herself? Another sign of this disorder. I hope the parents notice her behavior is off because this is not healthy for this little girl.

  5. Drugs or mental illness. Neither makes for a good caretaker.
I am thinking drugs might be slightly more possible than the mental illness. I am guessing the mental illness might have been apparent to the parents at some time because you can't turn a thing like that off and on. Surely nobody would hire a person if they saw this going on. Or they would let her go the momoent they saw it happen. Drugs you can take after they leave for work and they will likely be worn off by the time they return.

  6. This nanny sounds like a junkie (heroin addict). The mother should check the nanny's arms and legs for track marks.

This is very scary indeed. I wonder if this nanny takes her employer's child with her when she scores some smack?

  7. This nanny/mom surely was high on something, and I don't think the coffee was helping at all.

  8. Meth.
I'm willing to bet on it.
    Scary.

  9. Manhattan apartments are too small to host a Meth Manufacturing Station, LOL!

  10. Yes, the only thing worse than a crack whore is a crack nanny. Some poor child is the vehicle by which this addict has the means to score her drugs!
I really hope the mom sees this!

  11. WTF- r u people serious? There are tiny little bugs that could have been around that you would barely see on yourself much less someone else even a few feet away. I suggest you get a damn life.

  12. I don't know how she could afford heroin on a nanny's salary.
I hope for the child's sake it was fruit flies, or gnats. You can't see them from a distance.

  13. OK, If I were sitting in the middle of a horrendous fruit fly swarm, while people just a few feet away were sitting peacefully and comfortably in non-fruit fly infested airspace, I think I might just get up and move over rather than beat myself and my child silly. (Unless I was, quite coincidentally, on crack and also just so happened to be the one and only person in the park being so menaced, in which case my drug trip might cause me not to notice that others nearby were having no bug troubles whatsoever.)

    I'm just saying.....

Really? REALLY? Do you think it was invisible bugs?

  14. frmr nanny now a mom,

I was thinking the same thing. This post immediately reminded me of our former, now incarcerated, neighbor (rented the neigbor's basement apartment) who was a meth addict. A sweet kind woman, but seriously messed up. Used to offer to watch my kids....if course I NEVER let her. She went from seemingly normal to craziness in no time. You never knew who you were going to get when you saw her out.

  15. The girl had an over ripe piece of fruit in her bag, ergo fruit flys around her, and only her.

  16. I think I may have seen this nanny once before, oddly enough. And although she was not swatting at flies, I do remember thinking she had a tic or disorder of some sort. I think I may know how to run in to her again and see if she is still exhibiting this behavior and what more, if she is the person I ran in to before, I know who she works for. At the time I saw her, I made an off the cuff comment about her to a mother near me and that mother replies, "that's ----'s new nanny".
    I'll keep you posted.

I do realize this is NY. It may not be her but there aren't that many gangly, white nannies out here.

  17. Meth. This sounds like a person "tweaking" on meth. It's been called the white man's crack. If this is your nanny, INSIST on a drug test. Meth abuse is so common today.

I don't know why the DEA makes it a higher priority. So many lives have been destroyed. It's cheap to buy, even a nanny can afford it.

  18. Even a nanny can afford it? ? ?

Right, because "Charlie Brown" in Rye only sells to -*and skis with*- his peers.
