This was very unnerving to see. A nanny and her child/charge were having disagreement. The nanny was sitting on a bench. The little girl was standing in front of her legs with her hands on the nanny's thighs and in a posture of asking her something and she was about 5 or so. The little girl may have been off of school because she was wearing a red plaidish looking dress with some white lace on the collar and she had dark, curly hair and some of it was up in a little bow and the rest was down her back. I could hear the little girl saying, "but i want to". I paid them no mind. When I turned back around the nanny had her left hand raised in a punch like she was going to punch the little girl. She had the meanest look on her face ever. I made eye contact with her at that exact time and the nanny looked caught and the little girl immediately stopped asking on her and the mission was accomplished she stopped asking for whatever it is she wanted. She looked nervously back at the nanny and went back to play. Please tell me you all don't rule this as an approved negotiation technique? This all took place around 4PM at Westwood Park.
Thats terrible. I hope this child doesn't get abused at home. I hope the parents, or someone that knows the family reads this
ReplyDeletecan you describe the nanny??
ReplyDeleteYes, please describe the nanny! This is definitely not normal or okay behavior, and the fact that the little girl didn't start crying (out of fear, with the nannies raised fist in her face) shows that she's most likely used to this type of behavior! Not to mention, the fact that the nanny stopped while you were watching, shows she is aware that what she was doing is wrong! Describe the nanny, this could be a case of physical abuse!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I forgot to mention, even if it's not physical abuse this is still not okay! Using violence (even implied) is a horrible way to teach children, and can cause serious damage! AND, I won't even get started on the fact that this lady has the opposite personality (and control over her behavior) than a person should have whose being paid to mentor and help raise a child!
ReplyDeletedescribe the nanny, please.
ReplyDeleteI guess I overlooked some information. Perhaps I was affected by the way some of you jump down the throats of the OP. Very bad!
ReplyDeleteThis nanny was young twenties. She had kind of a bad complexion, very chubby, round face but her body was not chubby. She had a bit of a stomache but not much. Kind of a moon face. Her hair was thin and mouse like. I think she had a tatoo or mark on her hand by her thumb. I wasn't close enough to see but did see some shape in black. She was wearing green jeans that were cut off just above the knee. Slides. An athletic style. And a basic t-shirt. I want to say tan. But I dont think there was anything on it but there could have been. And she was white.
Its a good thing for the little girl that you were watching because if the nanny didn't see you staring at her, she probably would of hit her. This is NOT proper tecnique to get the child to listen and it makes it even worse if that was the actual nanny.
ReplyDeleteUgh..so sad...and the young child probably wont even tell her parents about it as I am sure the nanny probably threntens her if she does..
Makes me sick.
OP...if you are so scared, why post at all? A post without the needed info is as bad as no post at all. Maybe it was just to make yourself feel like you actually did something.
