Bad anny sighting today (8/28) at Vesuvio Playground in Soho.
Child-Your daughter appeared to be 12-16 mos. wearing pink crocs, brown hair, playing in sprinklers. she had either a twin brother or someone around the same age.
Stroller-grey Phil and Teds, camo Skip Hop bag.
Nanny-orange shirt, white t, jean capris.
Your daughter was playing in sprinklers alone-fell and skinned both knees. Crying. Another mom and I walked over to her, picked her up to calm her down and went to find other nanny. Nanny was sitting on bench doing nothing as we walked around park (including out of her sight). The other child in nanny's care was strapped into stroller. What is scary is that nanny did not appear to want to comfort the child, nor did nanny do anything when 2 strangers walked off with her.
I didn't know what it was. So I googled it. Look at the clear picture I got.

ReplyDeleteNo one has anything to say here other than what kind of bag she carried? UNREAL!
ReplyDeleteThis woman could have been carrying a douche bag for all I care...she let two complete strangers walk off with a child!
I am the person who googled the bag. The reason I did is because I wanted to know if I knew anyone who carries one. I live in Chelsea myself. I will be on the lookout for anyone carrying that type of bag. There are predators and perverts staking out our playgrounds. They are not allowed on the playground so they are usually on the perimiters. Once you are not with your child, the pervert has a chance to get up on your child. use caution. this was a really scary sighting. Was the nanny white? Young? Tall? Short?
ReplyDelete10:14 Good Deal. Hope it helps and someone find this nanny.
ReplyDeleteHow scary,my goodness whats wrong with people. Just like 10:14 there are sick perverts out their. Look at that self proclaimed predator in California. Disgusting, I wish something bad would happen to him.
ReplyDeleteI meant in my last commment (12:21) after 10:14 I forgot to put in the word (said)
ReplyDeletechildcaregonewrong linked to the page on wikipedia that gives you all the info you need to find that predator. or recognize him. his car, stats, weight, etc. he's gotta be out of ca by now. where to next?
ReplyDeleteHi 12:24 Thats what I am wondering where is this guy from California going next. They said on the news last nite maybe Chicago because he has family there??? Not really sure. Lets hope a Big Rig comes in his path. I know thats terrible to say, but this guy is going to do something. I don't understand how people like this get to run around. Look at that poor little girl in Florida, the guy that killed her at least is going to get the death penalty, I was so so happy about that. That case gave me nightmares just thinking of my own child.
ReplyDeleteDear 12:44am,
ReplyDelete"Lets hope a Big Rig comes in his path" is actually a good thing to say about this pervert. I too hope that some freak accident takes him out. I can't believe he is walking free, and being tolerated. There are so many of them walking around because they got a slap on the wrist, and society is just giving them too many rights.
If this nanny is this cold in public, she is a monster in private. Poor toddler :(
ReplyDeleteHI 5:18 its me 12:44
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you 100%
Most of the guys that get the slap on the wrist or spend a little time in jail, go right back out to hurting another child.
You see even if I had the money I wouldn't hire a nanny. I will have to start working soon, so I rather put him in a nice daycare. I thinks its safer, I hope!!
2:06 try daycaresdontcare.org.
ReplyDeleteBe careful about daycares. You're better off just finding yourself a good at home sitter. I found a beautiful sitter. I bring my son to her house twice a week to run errands, do housecleaning, and so he can get socialization with other children his age (there is a sad lack of fun parks with kids in my area). Check references (I checked 5!), bring your child to visit her, see how the other kids react to her, just drop in on her. I found a great at home sitter this way. Daycares are generally horrible, germ filled places, with young girls that are working for minimum wage or just a little above. I wouldn't bring my dog to a daycare.
ReplyDeleteHi its 2:06
ReplyDeleteYeah, you guys are right. I don't think I would ever put my son in a daycare. Maybe, when hes three I will put him in a part-time nursery school. My friend puts her son in a good nursery school, that they love. I will have to go back to work this winter : ( . At least part-time. New Jersey is expensive.
Co-op preschools can be a great option if you can devote the time and energy to it. All the parents work there a certain number of days per month, along with the regular staff of paid teachers, so you KNOW all the other people taking care of the kids and they and you have a huge voice and a huge stake in making sure things are the way you approve of at the school. Each family also has a regular school-related yearly task assigned (groundskeeping, supplies shopping, etc.) So it really becomes your own place. They are also much less expensive than the usual drop-your-child-off-and-write-a-check-at-the-end-of-the-month places.
ReplyDeleteI'm researching some of those in my area for my 3 year old for NEXT year because I really like the idea of being so involved in his care.
I just checked out the daycare site and with respect to nannies and employers, its message is that parents provide the most loving care for their own children, which is hardly disputable. So it's a darcare vs. parent message, not daycare vs. nanny. FWIW.
ReplyDeleteHi Cali
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in California there was a co-op school like that. I was living in Sierra Madre at the time. Not sure if you are familiar with that area. But it was great!! Parents even nannies volunteered their.
Stories about Nannies like this is part of the reason that I don't like to leave my child with anyone. I opted to be a stay at home mom, even though my husband and I could probably benifit from more money. I am deathly afraid to hire someone to watch me child.
