Nanny Still On the Job and Napping in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Received Saturday, May 26, 2007
On Friday, April 13, 2007 an incident was posted regarding a nanny who was sleeping on the job. The father contacted your blog and asked that you remove the post. You did. That nanny is still on the job. And, guess what? The nanny was again sleeping on the job. This was on Thursday. The nanny pushes a stroller that is a MacLaren with yellow and black accents. I won't mention or describe the child specifically. I am posting again in hopes that you will take note of this very unsafe situation that continues to go on! I will tell you this- no other nannies were watching your child while your nanny slept. No one. I am reporting it again because I saw it again. In fact I went home to get my digital camera to take a crystal clear picture, but when I returned she was gone. If anyone else sees this habitual offender, please call 911 on her.

  1. Why did the father ask to have the previous post removed?

  2. The child's father knows about the naps and kept the nanny? She must have something on him. That probably explains why she is too tired to stay awake.

  3. The father posted a comment that said "leave my family alone". You can do a search and return to the original post, which although was deleted, many of the comments still remain. I don't understand why he seems so tolerant of this nanny and making excuses for her. Maybe he realizes that a real nanny cost money and wants to keep wifey in the workforce and worth his while. $$$

Money makes people do stupid things.

  4. Sleeping on the job is simply unacceptable. Taking the child out to a public park and falling asleep is so irresponsible- anything can happen, as we know too well from the very sad Madeleine McCann story.

  5. So happy to see you (two?) again.
I completely agree. I don't recall seeing the original post. I cannot imagine why anyone would tolerate a sleeping nanny.

I don't believe good nannies are that hard to find.

  6. Some people are just nuts. They refuse to accept the fact that they have hired a horrible nanny. That is, until they find themselves missing a child or two. I hope he wakes up soon. Given the previous postings, I doubt he will though.

    Dumb. Bad parenting!

  7. Suggestion for the father of this child:
get your nanny a new stroller and a gift certificate for a new haircut/style.

  8. You MUST capture this wonder on camera. You simply must!

Meanwhile, that nanny has to have some dirt on daddy dearest. I can think of no other reason why she'd still be employed.

I hope those kids of his somehow stay safe.

  9. I never saw the original post but how do we know that it was the father who requested the post to be removed? Maybe it was the nanny or just some random prankster?

  10. 8:37, how do you search to get to comments when the original post is deleted?

  11. I think the family/father is just nuts. I saw the girl with her dad one morning and then the nanny came to relieve him. AS SOON as he left, the child was put in the stroller and the nanny read a newspaper. She wasn't napping (yet!) but this is no way to take care of a child. I think the parents really don't care or have the time to care or want to make the time to investigate or find a new nanny. We can all be stupefied but in the end what can be done if the parents will not wake up to the very real and potentially dangerous situation?

  12. The Original post which was deleted (apparently at the fathers request), and the comment from the Father ASKING for everyone to leave his Nanny alone are from April 13th. Go back to this heading to read all the comments, they are still there. ~

Personally, I think it's a shame the Father is behaving this way .... poor kid. I think someone needs to take a picture of that nanny (START carrying your cameras at all times!), and then quickly call 911 .... there IS a child in danger and being neglected. The Nanny will then wake up to a nice new pair of "silver bracelets"!

  15. this is the OP of the original post. i do believe the real father wrote here to get the post deleted. names were named and he probably threatened jane doe to take it down or else he'd sue for harassment or whatever. the father seems inocuous enough, but he is truly a fool. too many people -- with nothing at stake, except his child's welfare -- are chiming in at how bad this particular nanny is. i'm out of it for now. i'm still appalled, but i'm out of it.

  21. IF it was the dad that wanted the comment removed, he's probably sleeping with the nanny. Or nmaybe it's the child's aunt, somehow related to the "dad".

OT, but about Madelaine McCann, her parents are a perfect example of the type of child endangerment that needs to be reported to police and acted on. Who goes OUT TO DINNER and LEAVES 2 year old twins and a 3 year old COMPLETELY ALONE AND UNNATTENDED??? IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY no less? WHO?
