Lexie at Hippo Park in NYC

Received Wednesday, May 23, 2007
Is there anyone that knows a small child (maybe 2 - 3 yrs old) that goes by Lexie, short blonde/brown hair? She seems young but is very verbal. I was with my son in Hippo Park on Tuesday 5/22 around 4:30 PM. I have seen this little girl and her nanny around pretty frequently. The nanny is African American, tall, short curled hair. Please - if you know this child's family - tell them to get a nanny cam or something. I have never heard this woman speak a kind word to this child. The nanny is always on the phone and always sitting on benches. She is rough with the child too - grabs her wrists and pulls her along. The part that always makes me nervous - is that if this is the way she treats the child in public - what in the world is going on in private. And if my son was being treated this way - I'd want to know.

  2. well since lexi is a very common name, uhm yes- so the parents might note not just the name, but the description of their nanny- which-ever so obviously includes RACE!

  3. Is 12:47 going out of her way to speak ebonics slang? FYI, aren't 90 percent of the good nanny sightings also African Americans? Do a search, dumb ass.

    Get back to me.

  4. Was the nanny really African American. How do you know her citizenship.

  5. It isn't racist, Sherlock. Do you know what racism is? Or are you programmed to just spout the word off every few minutes?

Poor Lexi. I hope someone who knws the 'rents sees this post and the nanny gets canned.

  6. I wish there were some way to filter out the assholes (like 12:47), that make it difficult for anybody trying to do something good on this site ... like put up a sign or something: "Post at your own risk" .... geesh, the nerve. Describing the race of the "offender" often helps, you nutsack!

  7. hg - I'm confused - I thought 'african american' was politically correct. This isn't a black/white issue. This wasn't a good nanny sighting. If it was a black child with a white nanny I would have made the same exact post. Bottom line, black female approx 5'10" tall, short curly/wavy hair, slightly heavy build, spoke with a non-NY accent -treating a child like crap.

  8. Haven't African-American's been fighting all these years to get themselves called African-Americans not "colored people" or anything worse? I don't see the big deal about someone saying it. Does that mean I have the right to get mad at someone saying "hey white girl" or being called a "cracka" or anything else like that?

  9. So quick to scream racism - that's the true problem with this damned world! Yes, that was necessary to describe the nanny, just as I suspect the OP would have described the nanny as "white" or "caucasion". Perhaps you prefer "colored"

  10. AA is no longer PC since we have no idea by just looking at the color of someone's skin if their heritage stems directly from Africa, therefore, you should now say "black". I'm sure that will change within the next year, so stay on your toes for the next PC phrase.
Anyways, when parents are interviewing these nannies why are they not using their instincts/gut feelings about what type of person they are?

  11. I live in central park, and I'm a stay at home mom with three kids. And I came across this complaint regarding Alexi from new york city with her nanny. I can say I have been in contact with both of them. Alexi spit on my daughter and the way how I saw the nanny dealt with the situation, she is a very good nanny, and people don't make judgement on first impression. Yes Alexi is a verbal child but she is being well taking care of. If you see the nanny talking on the phone, it can be her talking to her boss, or trying to arrange play date. And if she sits down , the child is being watched. She does not have bruises or marks. MINE YOUR BUSINESS and leave the sista alone

  12. Right now this is someone that has nothing to do with her time, but to make trouble and trying to get this nanny fire, which is not right. Is there a problem with sitting down watching the child or talking on the phone. Some people you just cant please. This lady is probably a good nanny.
