86th and 1st in front of Duane Reade in NYC

Received Monday, May 14, 2007
This occurred around 2:40 on Monday May 14, 2007
I saw your son, blond hair, about 3-4 years old, wearing pants and a long-sleeved bright green shirt, standing outside of Duane Reade with his nanny (slightly heavy, 30s,perhaps Latino or Middle Eastern) You son was crying and asking for his mother which is normal for kids his age. But your nanny's response was cruel. She told your son "if you keep crying your mommy will NEVER come back for you". I would want to know and thought you might too.

  3. Mother's These day hired alot of illegal nannies and unprofessional nannies. They need to hired legal nanny or local nanny and always they should talk to there child.

  4. I'd like to kick her ass all the way back to wherever she's from. She probably practices VooDoo and has the child traumatized for life.

  5. I'd just like to point out that not all Voodoo is bad, exactly. You can do good stuff with it, too, just like anything else.

  6. 10:01:

Are you a "local," "legal" nanny?

I find that hard to believe, given your writing style.

  8. I don't know about good. Playing with voodoo dolls is a liberal's pastime (and the devil's playground).

  9. Voodoo is a religion, just as valid or invalid as all the others.

  10. Focus on the subject please, people...What a horrible thing to say to a child! My eyes welled up with tears reading this...a child crying for his mother, so very sad. I wish more people would hire someone to follow these nannies around for the day and install nanny cams and find out the truth of what goes on in their young children's lives. I am so thankful that when my son cries for me, I am there to give him a hug.

  11. I thought that Voodoo was considered a religeon only in Haiti? I mean officially, of course.

  12. "Voodoo" is a name subsitute given to the original religion "voudun" when its practitioners migrated to the US, usually as slaves. It is considered an official religion in the United States, but has far fewer practitioners than other African derived religions seen in the states (Santeria, Candomble, etc.)

I'm not familiar with much regarding the practices of voudon, but I spent half of my college career learning the ins and outs of Santerian practices in the States. Nothing purposefully or inherently evil in such things as far as I can tell. Voodoo dolls themselves are not part of the religious practice; there is a ritual involving nailing cloth dolls to trees near cemeteries that invokes respect for loved ones who have passed, but "dolls" in the religion are not used to invoke harm for others.

As far as voodoo dolls being a "liberal's pastime"... ?

Hmmm.... my apologies for getting us further off the subject.

  13. I found my nanny had a voodoo doll of me. It was a white cloth doll with my photograph crudely pasted on to the material. There were pins in the eyes and everywhere. I was none too pleased.
