Seventh Avenue Donuts on 7th in Park Slope area of Brooklyn (NY)

Received Saturday, January 13, 2007
Your nanny was in 7th Avenue Donuts today wearing a skin tight low cut black shirt. She was holding the hand of your little boy who was wearing a corduroy blue jacket and blue jeans. (Squinty eyes, very fair, blonde/brown hair, colorful bandage around one of his fingers). The nanny was in there picking up an order to go. During that time inside I saw her spend time with a very street looking man. She was flirting and handed him her cell phone and let him input his number in her phone. After he left, 30 seconds lapsed before she through the mack at some firefighter dude. The whole time the kid is hanging on her hand with a dazed look on his face. When the two of them did leave to go outside, I saw them across the street and she was writing her phone number down for yet another guy. While she was talking to the firefighter, I heard her say she was a live-in nanny and that the parents "are gone all of the time". Given the lack of interaction she had with the child, I have to wonder what life is like for this little guy with his parents "gone all of the time" and hoochie nanny prowling around Brooklyn looking for digits. He didn't look happy! The nanny may have been biracial, she had blonde like hair, medium skin and brown eyes. She wore a tight leather looking jacket unzipped with her chest hanging out. Extra tight black jeans, extra weight in her midsection and some kind of high heels. Maybe being a nanny is her day job. I don't know. It's not that she mistreated the boy, she just never acknowledged him.

  1. The parents of that poor child do not care enough to check boards or blogs like this.

  2. I have to say honestly-and I would never say this out loud, but as much as I might be somewhat off put that the nanny was enaging so many strange men while caring for my child, I would be somewhat satisfied that she had acclimated herself to her station in life. I am most certainly disgusted by the nannies in upscale towns who bat their eyes and shake their scatty tales at men they have no business dreaming about.

  3. 12:47- "I would never say this out loud"? you just did- and now you look like the biased, shallow person that you are. Did it ever occur to you that some nannies are nannies because that's what they want to be doing? My husband has a wonderful career- I don't have to work, but I choose to because I absolutely love what I do. Would you be as biased toward teachers? Because that's what a "real" nanny is- a mentor and a teacher for a child that isn't of school age.

  4. 926 thank you for your comment on what a real nanny is. As a nanny working toward my teaching degree, I am completely a mentor and teacher for the two young girls I take care of. This nanny is not. As a role model for young children what she did was completely wrong and unprofessional. I do hope the parents find out and would people please stop bashing the parents of these children. You don't know them or know their status, they could be great parents who just have to work.

  5. 1247..why do you have this fixation with a nannies"station in life" what the hell is that all about. You obviously look your nose down at nannies as you post virtually the same thing on every blog. Let me tell you something..you are no better than anyone. You are a snob and not worthy of the gum stuck to the bottom of a nannies shoe! Get rid of your capped teeth, fake nails, colored hair,300.00 dollar jeans and silicon boobies and you are nothing!! But the nanny at the park she is everything!!

  6. I can only guess that 12:47 is a joke. No one really thinks this way, IRL. "station in life" ROFL that is about the funniest thing I have heard all day. Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

  7. I am just worries that the nanny might bring these men into her employers' home because she's mentioned that they are "gone all the time." It's unsafe for the little boy to have strange men entering his home.

I sure hope 12:47 was mking a poor attempt at humor. If not, then I must say that my nanny has more class than you.

  8. Why do parents hire people to care for their kids who dress and act like hos?

  9. 1247 DOES truly exist and I do not beleive that he/she is making an attempt at humor. I have seen his similar posts on many of the blogs here and I think that this is something that this sick and twisted person truly beleives...that nannies are not worthy of the parents they work for!He makes me ill! Probably some sicko loser who looks down on all domestics!

  10. 5:18, I don't think employers really care. As long as they don't set their sights on anyone "higher" than the electrician or firefighter.

  11. 12:47-

Wow. You are crazy. I have a college degree from a very good school and could do a multitude of vocations with my degree, travels & experience and yet I choose to nanny. Nannying affords me to make my own schedule and the lifestyle I like to lead. To suggest that nannies, as a whole, are uneducated, loose & poor is the silliest, if not the meaniest thing I have ever heard. As with any career, there are always exceptions to the rule ... but the majority of us are loving, educated, creative, wonderful and more importantly, want to be right where we are.

  13. You know what is even funnier 12:47... you are just a bitter hateful person that didn't have life handed to you, the way you had expected. You think the rest of the world should feel the same. As for nannies knowing thier place...I know mine, I collect a paycheck for the work that I do and the superior care that I provide and in return I get 8 weeks PAID vacation a year. I have found my place.

  14. I have to wonder if Princess Diana knew her station in life? She was a nanny for a time. Tiger Woods saw a woman on the golfcourse who happened to be a nanny and married her. Jude Law cheated with his nanny. Robin Williams left his wife for his nanny. All of this hate towards nanny is nothing more than fear. It must be daunting to watch people provide your children naturally with the love and affection that you struggle to find in your heart. And if they are attractive? I am sure that pisses you off. All of the cool employers I know are strong, confident women who are great mothers. They hire the best nannies because they wouldn't have it any other way! And they most certainly have the nanny make herself something and eat WITH the child at lunchtime. Anything else is repulsive! I can almost understand you elitist a$$holes so afraid to share your table with the hired help. But this isn't the lawnman, it the person who rocks your baby to sleep!

  15. Princess Di was never a nanny...she was a kindergarden teacher/assistant. And it was in vogue at the time for sloans (basically well-heeled girls from rich and/or aristocratic families) to dabble a bit in childcare before marrying a gent.

  16. no. she was a nanny.

  17. 5:58, Princess Di was indeed a nanny! She cared for a little girl who was under the age of 2, I believe.

12:47 (who I'm guessing is the same person as 5:58!): I am a nanny and I am going to college and I'm getting my degree in pyschology, and eventually I hope to get my PhD in that as well. I'm an educated young woman who loves children and enjoys being a nanny whole-heartedly! Who says that being a nanny is a social typecast? Most nannies I know are young women in school who happen to enjoy children so they sought a job in which they could do what they love! One day, we'll be independant, successful and have our own children and probably our own nannies who will be reflections of our younger selves. So I don't know what century 12:47 is living in, but I think it's time you got a clue. Obviously, you have some sort of jealous resentment towards nannies, but I'm gonna guess that your old enough to act like an adult now and get over it.

  18. 1153 you are right..I think 1247 is a mommy who's children actually enjoy their time with the nanny more than mommy. Mommy is obviously bitter and cold and very judgmental something the kids are most likely subjected to.. whereas the nanny is loving and accepting and the kids naturally love her back!! Jealous mommy= hateful mommy..she is very insecure..just look at all of her postings on the blog pages..they are all the same!

  19. Not sure about nannies, as we have never needed one. BUT, I do know that any fireman giving his # to a women with a child in tow,(hers or not), is most likely married and looking for something on the side. The young single ones are most likely out in clubs, or where-ever, and not cruising diners in the middle of the day to meet women.
FDNY employee for 26 years, and that's my take on this.

  20. FDNY for 26 years? You sound hot. Let's get together.

  21. We never hired a nanny, but in regards to the posts about fireman who secured # from nanny: he is most likely married and looking for something on the side. The young single ones are out in clubs, or where-ever, and most likely not looking in diners for a soul mate. She may be an excellent care giver in other respects, I don't know. Parents are away, so they either really trust this caregiver, or are desperate for childcare/and don't care. Hard to judge on a snapshot of a persons situation.

  22. Hi again,
I rewrote my original post, but not sure which one went thru. Can't get together however, 12:35 anony, because I married my firefighter long ago, and we are still busy raising our daughter and being together. We have given combined service to FDNY and the city over 48 years, if you count us both.
Happy to serve you and all who read this, but lets get back to the important subject here.....childcare issues.
