Nanny/ Aupair/ cargiver looks foreign, maybe Latina. Young and in her 20s. Child looks between 9 and 12 years old. She takes the special needs gymnastics class that starts around 5:30 or 6pm on Thursdays. Caregiver doesn't look neglegent, just blah. While they sit and wait for class, the caregiver never says a word to the girl. Caregiver doesn't always even sit next to her. I see them every week as I wait for my charges to get out of their class. I hope that child doesn't spend her days with the caregiver like that.

  1. You just know the caregiver doesn't act like that in front of the parents!

  2. She could could give a s$it about the child she is caring for. As for many other, it's all about the $$$$$'s. Of course, my mother treated me much like that. Maybe it was her mom.

  3. Crazy!! Wish you would stop reporting these sightings! It is absolutley absurd! You are so freakin bored with you own life that you have to butt into everybody else's and blow things out of proportion! This is not worthy of a sighting on this nanny blog! So she's not Mary Freakin Poppins..the girl is safe,in class where she is suppossed to be and being watched after! Give it a rest already!

  5. Maybe the nanny speaks very little English. I see that situation a lot, and there is very little communication with the children.

  6. Folks, this is a "special needs child". Get it? Special needs... and one of the needs of these children is to accomplish something and to have the acknowledgement for having accomplished something. Perhaps, the parents are relying on this nanny to be supportive of the child, which she needs above all else to thrive and achieve, and to report on her progress to them. How can she give the parents feedback if she doesn't pay any attention to the girl? Therefore, how can the parents give her the "pats on the back" that she very much needs?

  7. ahh..heres how by taking her to the classes herself instead of paying someone else to do their job!!!

  8. Poster..359..well maybe if mom & dad took their daughter to her classes then they could pat her on the back! What do you think?

  9. Who are these heathens arguing on this board? My guess is they surely are not nannies. Nor are they women with the potential to hire nannies. I think they are the same angry people from the mid west that clogged up UB with bacon grease and Graco strollers.

A nanny would never suggest herself that a parent stay home and take the child to class. That would be taking away a nanny job. Besides, most of the nannies I know are strong and quite capable, if not more capable then the people they work for. (My own included).

    We all have strengths!

And by the by, scrimping is not one of mine!

  10. 647 well hello "trailer park poster!!" You just can't help yourself can you????????Once again..prove to us how wealthy you are"scrimping is not one of mine"..and get that you must be poor dig in "bacon grease and Graco strollers" you have so much to prove..how very sad that what the rest of the world thinks is how you define yourself! And yes.. a nanny would suggest that mommy & daddy take their child to her classes now and then!!Maybe yours does not because she knows you are not capable of giving your own child what she needs..hence your nanny has a job!!PS...thought you had 2 nannies?? Your story is changing and your lies are catching up to you!

  11. Obviously, if the parents or one of them took the child to her class, they would get a first-hand account of what transpired. However, when parents must rely, for whatever reasons, on someone else to assume this duty, wouldn't it be nice if it was someone who gave a sh*t?

  12. Stop plastering this board with hate towards the working mother. Some people choose to work. Some people have to work. During those times, they contract a person to do a job for them. I am sure they provide a job description. They have every right to insist their child is treated a certain way and engaged in a certain way. Would you pay a plumber to come and snake your drain if he left and your sink was still clogged? no. These people are getting paid to do a job. And caring for other people, whether it is special needs, babies or geriatric- it isn't a job for heartless people.

Now stop your lunatic like raving. I have had ENOUGH!
