There are no nanny sightings to post this morning. Below are some "nannies in the news" stories sent in by I Saw Your Nanny readers.

If you have a nanny sighting to submit, please email us.
The point of this site is to alert parent employers of abusive nannies. What is the point of posting these tabloid articles?
ReplyDeleteI think the poster said there were no nanny sightings. So, um. Maybe she posted something related to nannies? If you are so p'd off, maybe you can do a drawing and send it in and have the blog hold it for the next time there are no stories?
ReplyDeleteIs this your blog? Because I think the blog owner could decide to write for one week on the merits of soy protein. I suggest you get your own blog since you have such an urge to control everything and everyone.
ReplyDeleteI would just like to point out that these sorts of stories are almost never about true professional nannies. Anyone can call themself a nanny and the media often uses that term as a catch-all for anyone who is left in charge of a child.
ReplyDeleteFor parents, these stories serve as a sobering reminder of the types of people out there who are applying for nanny positions. Check references carefully. Ask questions about why candidates chose a CAREER in nannying. Trust your gut instinct. And don't try to save a buck by hiring someone who is inexperienced.
Annie,
ReplyDeleteI hear that MJ's nanny was a british trained professional and that the country singer's nanny was a professional nanny with a childcare background. As for the last story, yes- parents- be careful who you bring in your home!
Yes, I was focused more on the case with the shaken baby rather than the celeb gossip cases (since the idea of shaking a baby upset me more than sleeping with the boss, which is certainly unethical but not as horrifying). That's very interesting about the others though. I'm really surprised that anyone who is trained to care for children would want to work for Michael Jackson. That doesn't seem like a very appealing job to me.
ReplyDeleteSo many NANNY sightings are just NOT fit for print!
ReplyDeleteI just don't get it... It takes 2 to tango and I love it how we always blame the lowest on the totem pole as to who forced sex on the other.... On the "Monster" story. If you read the whole thing it says same person also had issues in Long island. If all these oh so great parents would actually check the background of anyone in there home they could tell right away that this person is not so good. She might have been cheap labor but I belive you get what you pay for. People wise up the nanny didn't cause the divorce the two involved were not strong enough to work through the issue in front of them. Some monster they have not seen in a year didn't say get divorced....
ReplyDeleteGood links none the less.
