Your nanny took your daughter Olivia to lunch today at Pizza Hut. Nanny was overheard telling Olivia that she needed to tell her mother that she needed new jeans and long sleeve shirts because it was getting cold. Nanny said more than three times some variation of and you remind her that all the old shirts and jeans I want. Nanny was also asking Olivia about a pair of boots that she had. The nanny wanted to know if the boots still fit her. Olivia said they did fit her. The nanny then told Olivia that boots shouldn't be anything but loose and she should get new ones. This nanny wants very much for Olivia to go shopping I am gathering this weekend with you, Mom. And she wants to make sure that she gets all of the old clothes and that they don't go to anyone else. I have to say I was kind of aggravated to hear this nanny haggling with this little girl who could not have been more than 7 or second grade. The way that the nanny went on and on, I think the little girl has to be stressed about it. I don't like that sort of behavior in anyone. And do not dare comment and ask me what is wrong with the nanny wanting the child's clothing. This isn't a deal to be brokered with a child over lunch. In the time our meals overlapped, I never did hear any child related or fun topics come up. That sort of nanny would last eight seconds in my house.
Is she begging the kid? Describe her. I want to put a face to this kind of behavior!
ReplyDeleteGeez, what a thing to complain about.
ReplyDeleteThat's is really disgusting behavior on the nanny's part. The sad thing is that the little girl probably wants to make the nanny happy, so she will probably start complaining that her boots are too tight.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stupid post! I guess you can coplain about anything on here as long as it's about nannies!
ReplyDeleteHow is this a stupid post? It is COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR on the part of THE NANNY. Isn't it odd, that you reveal yourself as a nanny by your own stupid comment? And a bad nanny at that. No doubt one accustom to strongarming little kids in to handing over their possessions.
ReplyDeleteThat nanny -- the one badgering the poor kid about her clothes, not neccesarily the one commenting above -- is one piece of 5#iT. She needs to get her lowlife ass back uptown.
ReplyDeletealthough i agree that the nanny in the post is a poor excuse for a human. i also feel that we should as parents/caregivers let the person know that they may want to reconsider how they choose to speak to a child. if this is her dialogue with the child in public i am afraid of what it is like in private!
ReplyDeletefrom a concerned mom(2),teacher(7), nanny(7), and babysitter(9)
What is wrong with the nanny wanting the childs clothing???????
ReplyDeleteIf the nanny wants the clothing, she takes it up with her employer- not a four year old!
ReplyDeletePS I hate sneakiness
The actions of the nanny in this post was demonstrating coercion and a complete misuse of employment. What makes this so wretched is the fact that the nanny was coercing a child they were in employed to take care of.
ReplyDeleteIf the nanny wants the child's outgrown clothing, that should be addressed with the employer, not the child.
Mel is absolutely correct, this is sneaky. Not only is it sneaky, I would consider it thievery.
This nanny should definately be removed from the house as soon as possible for the child's sake and peace of mind.
