Very much appreciated, but a very weird way to do things. If told it was a raise, I would feel happy and appreciated. <br /><br />I've had parents give me raises without discussing it, saying (while writing out a check) something along the lines of, "It's time for a raise for you, so your check will reflect your new rate of $x/hr. Thanks for all you do."
