If you're going to be here in June I'd suggest contacting one of those agencies, getting your paperwork in and they should be able to set you up for interviews.

From my own personal experience, I found a short term position when I first moved here and went with it and then went on interviews through the agency while continuing to look for a job on my own. I lucked out finding my family on CL and have been with them for 3 years.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, Denver is an amazing city to live in! I'm sure you'll find a great family to work for.DenverNannynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-44285443289428133802012-05-12T14:11:06.198-04:002012-05-12T14:11:06.198-04:00PS: From my experience the agencies were very nice...PS: From my experience the agencies were very nice but weren't willing to work with me until I was actually officially in the area. So that is definitely a good idea if nothing works out before your move...but I know how you feel about wanting something solidified BEFORE you actually move.NaytheNannynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-91473265263780185742012-05-12T14:09:41.322-04:002012-05-12T14:09:41.322-04:00Ah, I literally just went through this a received ...Ah, I literally just went through this a received a lot of helpful advice on here. I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast and let me tell you it is tough, especially starting so far in advance. I did the same thing...put out feelers in December when the move wasn't until April. Every babysitting website, care.com, enannysource, sittercity, nannies4hire, gonannies...I didn't end up getting any truly serious replies until maybe February/March and still managed to land a wonderful position. I met with them during my trip in March to make sure the chemistry was there in person and have been working for them happily for almost a month. So all I can tell you is you are doing all the right things...just be patient and keep it up!NayTheNannynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-64693018974335083412012-05-09T21:22:42.453-04:002012-05-09T21:22:42.453-04:00Work with an agency local to the area.Work with an agency local to the area.Use an agencynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-16504082126046732892012-05-09T20:26:37.996-04:002012-05-09T20:26:37.996-04:00Agencies!! Join agencies based in the Denver-metro area (as I assume that's where you'll be moving). The suburbs around Denver are FULL of kids and I'm sure that with a little patience, you'll find a family in no time. Good luck!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02380475924902074381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-49930557014968148872012-05-09T15:20:37.574-04:002012-05-09T15:20:37.574-04:00Be patient and join an agency. Fact is, people aren't going to want to hire you long distance when there are probably a ton of highly qualified nannies clamoring right at their doorstep. You might have to wait until you move, so save up!

BTW, congratulations on your upcoming wedding!MissMannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15111173519948500730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-13913401835155723002012-05-09T14:58:54.685-04:002012-05-09T14:58:54.685-04:00You could join Denver area nanny association becau...You could join Denver area nanny association because other nannies post when we know of people looking or will keep you in mind when we hear things come up.MilehighNannynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-5264902055463428812012-05-09T14:52:14.630-04:002012-05-09T14:52:14.630-04:00You should also try the website Sittercity.com. Why don't you contact an agency, explain your situation and sign on w/them?

I would just keep trying. The current economy is still in the tank now, despite what the politicians claim and a lot of people are having trouble getting their feet in the door. There is a ton of competition out there and all I can say is that you need much patience and a thick skin when seeking a Nanny position now.

Good Luck OP!!
