I get paid a little stipen to drive a little girl to and from school. I really do it because it is good for my child, the companionship. Also, I do weekend childcare on Saturday evenings for the four years.

Oh yeah I am planning to open up my own agency. One special main teacher and she has three assistants. What would ABA be able to offer a five year old in the school setting? Just curious because a backup pediatrician we saw said it may be a benefit. So I mentioned it to the teacher. Yeah, I don't feel like t...Happy for you guys. Yeah, I don't feel like the nanny field is for everyone. The ones that really love it good for you. I was a live-in for about six months for one family. Hated it. The mom resented me being there. Thank god they both worked full time. So didn't have to deal with them all the time. It was great that the kids were in school all day. We had fun together. They had me live in their basement. A tiny room with no windows. No real heat. They gave me a heater for the room. Oh one reason I left besides hating the parents, I was getting sick. I didn't realize their was mold in the basement. Until I looked on the rug in the basement on the corners. Black mold. I was getting sick in the spring. I started in January. I slept over Monday thru Thursday and went home Friday night. But by the spring I was getting sick. Woke up one morning the whole room was spinning. For three days I was dizzy and nauseus. I got an ear infection on top of it. Once, when I was bending down to get something out of the drawer I fell over and hit my head. Then driving with the kids one time it felt like the car was floating. I had basically mold poisioning. It was awful. After I left within a month the symptoms disappeared. What I should have done was call the city. Let the fire inspector come and see the room I was sleeping in with no windows or ventillation.
But I did screw them at the end by declaring that I worked for them. I had to pay taxes and they wanted to know my employers name and address. These are lawyers that I worked for that wanted to keep in her own words"I want to keep it off the radar"rather not saynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-8946886601095899322011-12-03T00:09:24.048-05:002011-12-03T00:09:24.048-05:00I thought about that too, I will send her an e-mai...I thought about that too, I will send her an e-mail!EKLnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-682815272689826752011-12-02T23:45:32.853-05:002011-12-02T23:45:32.853-05:00I feel the same way about leaving my email on here...I feel the same way about leaving my email on here. EKL... yes I am "I was in your shoes...OP here. EKL... yes I am "I was in your shoes" who commented on your "Melodramatic MB" post! I recently decided to make a name on here because I was sick of making up stupid names lol.

Anyway, I cannot believe you are going to be doing ABA too!! My degree is in Communication Disorders and I eventually need to get my Masters to be a Speech and Language Pathologist. I took a year off before doing that and here I am. A lot of people in my field get their start in Early Intervention so I decided to go that route. I have been doing ABA for almost a month now and I really love it. I do in-home services so I go from house to house. I would love to hear more about your job and answer any questions you might have. If you want to do that, I would love to get your email address!StrawberryShortKakeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13059483611990265845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-41626656117237388542011-12-02T18:08:26.234-05:002011-12-02T18:08:26.234-05:00Oh my gosh, we are the same person, lol! Is this "I was in your shoes" who commented on my melodramatic MB post?

Becauseeeee the job that I am about to start is an ABA therapist!!!! How crazy! You must have graduated with a degree in psychology? Or something similar? That's what I majored in. And like you said, after college I would look at jobs in my field or go to interviews but it was always an issue about not having experience...but I couldn't get experience unless I got a job in my field...and they wouldn't hire me because I didn't have experience. It was a horrible, frustrating cycle! That's why I would be absolutely stupid to turn this job offer down, because I will finally be in my field and getting some experience!

How do you like your job as a therapist?! I am so anxious to start!!EKLnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-1580828307261892592011-12-01T22:25:16.056-05:002011-12-01T22:25:16.056-05:00Thanks for sharing. They are far more challenging than the children themselves!!
I was an ABA Therapist for 5 years before I became a full-time nanny. I only finished that job because I moved. Once I leave my current position, which I've been in for 3 years, I hope to start my own baking business :)Baking Nannynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32916951.post-62949164429422560382011-12-01T22:18:41.927-05:002011-12-01T22:18:41.927-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
